    Hi,

I'm fairly new around here, but I visited Lime Rock last year and this. Some pictures of mine can be found at:

    http://www.danielwalton.com

    I hope you enjoy them.

Who can help me identify the white boxy car? ;-)

Great pics! Thanks for sharing. I'm guessing a boatload of Superamericas arrived this week. We had a couple documented out here in SoCal late this week.

Great shots. I mustn't have been in the "manufacturer's midway" enough because I missed seeing the new race Maserati. Was it there all weekend?

    I don't remember seeing the MC12 there??

I think the big surprise was the lack of sound coming from the Challenge cars. I presume the lack of buildings the sound could bounce off of was the main cause, but the loudest cars there were a racer 308 and the 333sp.

I didn't see the MC12 this past weekend either, but I did see it the prior weekend (July 4th) for the ALMS race at LRP. Perhaps that is when the picture was taken.

Is that car mostly original (i.e. unrestored)? I seem to remember seeing a 4-cam (a number of times) in that color combination up at Lime Rock approximately 10 years ago. Anyone?

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing vintage ferraris with mud splattered up on the bodywork. It's nice to see these cars out doing what ferraris were meant to do. The highlight was definitely the 250 GTO. It just sounded sweet on the circuit.

The GTO was cool but I was disappointed there were no Testa Rossas

The car that blew me away was the Maserati 250F driven by Sir Stirling Moss back in the day. This was the sister car to the 250F that Fangio ran his best ever race in at the Ring. Amazing !!!!! :)

Yeah, that's Peter Giddings' new ride and he ran away from the drum brake field in it. He is one smooth driver and he has an enviable life and vintage racing schedule. His old Alfa 8C/35 did well also in the hands of new owner Peter Greenfield (not sure of name, from memory).

Hey John, Great meeting you up there. There is a Peter Greenfield who is an owner driver. He raced Formula Atlantics, Indy cars, etc, etc.

I hadn't realized that Alfa was owned by him too. Thanks for the info.
