Great stuff. Is the blue SWB California Spyder Dick Vento's? Picture 5, the California without the Euro plate and hardtop.
Just checked my hi-res photo - the tag on the front says the car is from C..... Collection in Monterey Mexico. S/N is not on the tag but I am sure others will know. Cheers Kevin
Thanks. I didn't know that there were so many dark blue California spyders. Two in your pics and the one I mentioned from NorCal. I thought that they were ALL red by now.
Nice pictures. Thank you. Is the silver car the sole 250 Europa Cab? It used to be red. Looks alot better now. john
Yup - it's the ex-red, ex-Garrison car - the only 250 Europa cab. Owned by our own mroz. Beautiful car, Manny - it was nice to meet you in Carmel! -steve
Just great, I'm imortalized on FerrariChat yawning while waiting to drive the 250SWB over the ramp. Oh well, it was a long day. Brian
Sorry mate - shall I do some photoshop work on that for you? Congratulations by the way. Cheers Kevin
Yes, I too found the vintage people way more friendly. In the Modena section, I placed no less than eight 3x5 cards on car windshields with an explanation of how I was close to a purchase and still had not aquired a ride in an F1 car, and offered 200 dollars for a 10 minute, normal ride so I could watch someone with experience, operate the car. Zero phone calls...
Oohw so sorry to see that SWB in its current shape, completely over restored (SWB 1613GT) Had original childerens seats in the back, ferrari factory made. GONE! Wrong front fenders. Such a pity IMO
The 250SWB 1813GT is an alloy body factory comp. car. see http://www.barchetta.cc/english/All.Ferraris/Detail/1813GT.250GT.htm The fenders and area behind the seat are now as they were the day the car left the factory, we have photos that prove this. Do you think that they had kiddie seats in the car for the three times that the car ran the Targa Florio? The competition fuel tank was removed and those seats were hacked in at a later date when the car was converted to street use. Brian
250 Europa Cabriolet: John - The color change back to original silver green helps the car look elegant as originally intended. It's a reserved style. The dash was also painted at some time to a Cal Spyder - like wrinkle finish and has also been returned to body color. It is the only Cabriolet by Pinin Farina on the Europa chassis and the only cabriolet on the long 2800 wheel base. The car was at Pebble for the Pininfarina 75th - display only - not judged.
Also, nice to meet you on Ocean Ave. The best part of the Pebble weekend is the tour and display on Ocean Ave. My pleasure to show you the car! Should had given you a ride. I saw Wayne and gave him a drive around. Although, I forgot to turn on the fuel pump and got vapor lock for most the drive. Here's a close up of the front: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great cars and great pictures. That 250 SWB Cali Spyder looks awesome, but they seem to have painted it the wrong color
It is amazing what the right color does for a car. That silver-green is just the ideal look for this car. Was the upholstery also replaced to match the exterior? john
I have not done the interior yet. Came with the car. I will do it later in a greenish - brown as shown at the 1954 New York motor show. Then, I will show the car in maybe a couple years. In the mean time it will just be driven around.
