    In lieu of the fact that the new Bond should be announced in the upcoming week, here's a thought-provoking article for all you fellow James Bond fanatics.

    I'm particularly interested in this next movie, as it should be a revival of the literary Bond, which I am partial to.

    Any thoughts? Anyone else as excited by this movie as I am?

    Amazingly enough "The Living Daylights" was the most literary type Bond I have seen. I do hope they get Clive Owen to play Bond.

    I though tthe living daylights was a brilliant bond movie. Dalton did very well, although few will admit to liking License to Kill.

    Agrred that Clive Owen will fit the bill brilliantly. Then again I liked OHMSS and George Lazenby. "This never happened to the other fellow!"

    The Living Daylights its awesome, so underrated. Besides all the connery ones, Goldeneye is my favorite. My quam with the newest one is that they went a little over the top with the gadgets (invisiable car cmon), but other than that it was a great plot line.

    The soundtrack from the original movie COlGEMS (COMO/COSO-5005) is a classic. Dusty sings 'The look of Love' and original copies of the vinyl record used to fetch hundreds of dollars (although it was reissued in bootleg form several times, dunno if anybody licensed the original master to reissue it properly). It sounds staggering on a good hi-fi system, and is one of few Harry Pearson 'Absolute Sound' recommendations with which i fully agree.

    Exactly. We need a Bond movie that focuses on Bond and a decent storyline, not one that feeds cliches and over-the-top action. With any luck, this movie will show us the young, somewhat green Bond earning his double-0 ranking and actually falling in love with a girl.

    All the explosions in the world can't beat the high stakes baccarat game with Le Chiffre.

    I agree with you guys about Clive Owen. I hope he gets the nod, but what I would *REALLY* like to see is to have one of the Bond films directed by Ridley Scott or even Martin Scorcese.

    Yes, it's a different genre than what they've typically directed in the past, but I also believe they could have a lot to offer and it would *really* be a different kind of Bond film than we've seen before - darker of course, and perhaps less use of cheesy, stupid, unrealistic gadgets and more use of "realistic" spy toys.

    Clive would be fantastic, but I hope he doesn't do it. I'd hate to see what it would do to his career.

    God I love "Casino Royal!" yea its corny but its also cool and also funny.The music is the best part in my opinion .I especially dig the scene where Peter Sellars and Ursela Andress are groping each other as Dusty Springfield sings "The Look of Love". Scene shot thru Fish Tank is especially cool and very 1960's

    Anyone ever see the TV movie of Casino Royale from 1954 with Barry Nelson as 007 and Peter Lorre as Le Chiffre? Very funny stuff...

    I think Clive Owen would have been the better choice...that guy doesn't really look like Bond IMO.

    Best moneypenny was the one from the 80s Dalton movies. Damn she was sooo fine.

    Does this mean that Jessica Simpson is out? I sure hope so, she's the one thing that would have kept me from seeing this movie. So...da*n...annoying...

    Supposidly Aston Martin will be releasing a vehicle called 'DBS' in the movie...
