    Not sure if that is what it is now called.

    Used to be a show around March/April every year connected to the Strictly 43rd Model Car Show. Ferrari models, literature, and memorabilia.

    I believe it still exists on its own, and may take place at a Ferrari dealership.

    Can any of you help?

    Thanks!

    It is at Continental in Hinsdale. It is an official FCA event, but you don't need to be a member to attend (I believe). It is their annual swap meet where vendors from the region offer all kinds of Ferrari related goodies. Car parts, memorabilia, clothing, perfumes, you name it.

    a lot of everything. it's like e-bay for italian car stuff like;

    1) ferrari books, magazines, sales brochures, posters...
    2) ferrari tee shirts, jackets, hats, gloves...
    3) ferrari 1/18 & 1/24 die cast models
    4) ferrari emblems and monikers.
    5) pretty much the same for maserati.

    what they don't have;
    1) car parts
    2) cars for sale that aren't continentals (or consigned by continental)
    3) any proof that the autographed michael schumacher pix wasn't actually signed by walt the janitor.

    it's a good time and the continental botique which is never open on saturdays, is open saturday.

    see you there.

    I just learned that the first ten people showing up at the event will be given gift certificates for a free rental of a 360 Spider over a weekend this summer.

    So hurry and good luck!

    My wife and I stopped by around 10:00am but I forgot my camera-anyone take any pics(i liked the 355 with yellow rims and spoiler,blue pantera,old convt ferrari next to blk 512 bb out front and the wht. 308 with blk boxer trim)-we left and stopped by "A WORLD OF DIECAST"-in Brookfield anyone ever been up there(picked up 1/18 scale FERRARI 430)-on our way back I saw what looked like a 250 gto next to old convt ferrari. Does anyone have pics they can post of any of the above mentioned cars??? If so thankyou in advance.

    Gosh, that Barchetta replica is beautiful! Would be fun to have that car at some driving event. Imagine the picture!

    Andreas, I hope your kidding about the "replica" barchetta, right??

    Ron, I think you are correct about the Strictly 43rd show being later this month but I am not sure where it is this year. I'll post when I find out.

    Actually I wasn't. So please tell me more. All I heard was that it is a replica body on an unidentified chassis with a real Ferrari engine. Since I don't know what the chassis is, I wouldn't call it a rebody. Please shed some light if you know.

    I recognize the lic plate, and usually this collector has some of the best and most important Italian cars ever made. I don't think its a replica, but I could be wrong. If it is not a real car, I'm sure it is aperfectly built replica. I only say this because this person used to vintage race a Norwood 330 P4 back in the days when Joe Marchetti has his Norwood P4, and he also vintage raced a perfect replica of a 250SWB. If I were to guess, I would say this is a real Ferrari that was rebodied by an Italian coach builder back when it was stilll new. Maybe some others can shed some light on this car as well.

    Isn't this the one that was at Oak St. last year. It was a rebody, don't remember the chassis, the body was contructed by a guy who, up until this car, made his living from making suits of armor. It is a beautiful job he/they did on it.

    Regards,
    Bill

    For sure this is a TOTAL REPLICA and a poor one as well. Look at the size of the front grille opening......and the size of the triangular cut away in the rear fenders, and, by the way, NONE of the 250 or 340 MM Spiders with Vignale coachwork EVER were LHD. And the wheels are wrong as well. And you say "a perfectly built replica"?? With LHD?? Get real. The fact alone that apparently the same owner also vintage raced a Norwood "330 P4" and a "250 SWB" also indicates that the guy is a serious replica owner, rather than an owner of REAL Ferraris. Here we have once again A FAKE and nothing else.
