I don't think anyone cared until the 70s. In circa 1972, the highest price ever paid for a car was $59,000, and that was for a T57S Bugatti Atlantic...a car that now is worth at least 5 million..

Understand the current advertising for Christies's Monterey auction shows a photo of #002C. Surfed somewhat around, but was unable to find it. Anybody able to post a link here?

I know this page, but there's no photo of #002C.

According to the Christies website, 0002 wasn't a part of their auction in Monterey; was it there? Was it sold? How much?

Only what is stated on Barchetta:

1969 - Motto body sold separately to Henry W. Desormeau, Latham, NY, USA for $300 (Motto body was later sold to Ed Williman)

    Amazing.

'Napolis - Somehow, I knew this would happen.

Were he not only alive, but sentimental, I'll bet Enzo would be glad it's in good hands, too.

OK, now I'm confused. I thought I was about to post pictures taken at the 1997 FCA National of my father, Robert Phillips, and Bill Noon in 002C that Mr. G bought last week. But after looking at these pictures, it doesn't appear to be 002C. It doesn't appear to be 01C(now 010I) or 02C(now 020I).

So what is it? left hand drive . . .

well - here's part of the mystery solved - I scanned my old slides backwards! . . . so it is indeed right-hand drive. so is it 01C?

Got her home. Took her apart. Changed oil. Changed water. Put her back together. Went for a ride. Priceless. It really was. What a car.

I can believe that...and in spite of the fact that it is not as valuable of some of the other cars, it is still the one I would choose. Must have been one hell of a drive in 1947-48 :)
