Are there any particular years more valuable than others? Such as, they only printed 1000 of the 1953 edition, but then printed 5000 of the 1954 yearbook (made-up example). Is the 1949 book more valuable than any of the 1950s books? Thanks in advance!

Thank you! This is exactly the information I needed. I’ll have my friend double-check her dad’s bookcases for a 1950 yearbook.

I don't think that a 1950 yearbook would be stored in a bookcase, it is little more than a pamphlet. Most valuable is an original 1950, then an original 1949. Be careful as both were reprinted. I once attended an auction where the catalog description just read "lot of Ferrari literature" which contained a 250 GTE brochure, a 1949 yearbook and a few other items. The lot was sold for $3500 and afterward I asked the triumphant high bidder why he paid so much for the lot. He smugly held up the 1949 yearbook--I turned it over to the back cover to show that it was a reprinted edition by Richard Merritt. He turned white and tried to bust the sale. No dice.

Just for a bit of reference to what 375+ is talking about, see this link. I have personally seen this collection and can vouch for it's authenticity.

This might be of help to some of you. Some differences between a reprint 1950 and original.
These are 3 editions of the 1950 yearbook. On the right the original one. The two on the left are reprints. One more recent (2008) the other one a bit older. Both reprints have a complete different kind of paper. More 'glossy' and the colour is also much different to the original. The real one has a more old fiber like kind of paper. On the inside we see a pale blue horse in the real one, a much more visible blue horse in the older reprint and in the most recent reprint the blue horse is out for a walk... in other words, not present... On the back there is the text 'reprint' but be careful. There are reprints out there WITHOUT this text!!
Also on the cover of the original one there are always two lighter white spots next to the word 'affermazioni' . Some pictures:

For the 1949 issue i'm only aware of one reprint. The Merritt one. If there are more i would love to learn about them. The Merritt yearbook is very different to the original one. First, the size is smaller, second the original one is glued, the Merritt one is stapled. There are some extra pages in the Merritt yearbook and it comes with an inlay with translation of the Italian text. Some pictures to make things visible... Hope this will be of some kind of help to other collectors out there.
