So anybody seen this GT4 before? There is no S/N or VIN so I am not sure if this has been there before. I cannot figure out how to post the pics, so maybe someone else can. Finally, this does not look like a 2+2, but a luggage shelf. Is that right? Thanks.

    Vehicle Description

The 3-liter, 240hp 308 GT4 was Ferrari's answer to the call for an affordable supercar. The design brief set out lofty goals; impressive performance, intriguing styling, comfort and attainability. To accomplish this end, Ferrari borrowed from other successful models. Most notably, the stout tubular chassis was sourced from 206 and 246 models, while the 308's Tipo F106 V8 was born of the Daytona's Tipo 251 V12. The 1975 model benefits from being badged a Ferrari (Series I cars are officially Dinos) and the higher output engine (a reduction to 205hp came in later years).

    Options include:
    • Black Italian leather interior with red piping
    • Boxer paint scheme (lower half finished in matte black)
    • Campagnolo five-spoke alloy wheels

Affordable, head turning, and quick, this well-sorted 308 GT4 will give you the joy of exotic-car ownership plus the confidence of a smart purchase.

It is #10334 and has been for sale for quite a while.

All is not what it seems on that car.

This dino looks very nice but I think it has been repainted and they didn't do it correctly. The boxer trim should have a 9mm black stripe 8 or 9 mm above the black main. Also under the tail lights the black should be higher and follow the body contour.

This is not a serious issue depending on your non-originality tolerance but it bugs me that someone would go to the trouble of painting this car ( a 10,000 miler no less ) and not take the time and effort to do it correctly. In my view the original format for the boxer trim looks better than this anyway.

Don't know what else is wrong but I love that red piping and carpet.

This is the 3rd time this car has hit EBay that I can remember and we discussed it the previous 2 times. I think Dave summed it up about right - all is not what it seems. I don't think we're even sure it is a '75 or even a US car. It seems to have misc. pieces on it.

The car is also came up for sale today on Hemmings.com with an asking price of $38,000. Seems a bit high considering the "quality"...

The photos are obviously older than a few days
and do not necessarily indicate that the oil filter
    has not been changed since.

duuuuh...but are they 1004 days old??? This is even more odd if they are attempting to represent the condition of the car based on photos that are 3 years old...wonder if they mileage is as of 3 years ago to?

I don't know exactly how old the photos are, but nearly a year
    at minimum.

I'm sure the seller can provide this info,
if you wish to contact them - looks quite reputable
    http://www.blackhorsegarage.com/team/index.html

Based on prior threads, at least one Fchatter was going to purchase the car,
and had it looked at, so he may be able to provide further info.

    >based on photos that are 3 years old

Reina had a GT/4 for about 3 years around 2002, same photos, throughout.

This has been there for a while - http://www.fantasyjunction.com/used-cars.php?id=4cfc3978dddfb4ea5b1a23f02d8aac68

    As has this ... ;) http://www.reinaintlauto.com/inventory_detailed.php?id=3048&nhs=20&make=&model=&ext_color=&stockno=&eyear=&syear=&eprice=&sprice=&keywords=&location=Reina+International+Auto&type=used&specials=&rtd=&mileage=&ob=&desc=&d_trim=&d_year=1959&d_make=Mercedes+Benz&d_model=220S+Formerly+Owned+by+Legendary+Sports+Figure

    So, it can happen.

If that car has only 10,000 miles on it, then I think they must have replaced the steering wheel with one from a car with a few more miles on it.

Who knows? Perhaps, they wanted a steering wheel that was already "broken-in"!

Might want to ask the seller if they kept the original. Because after all, now that it might be worth more money in "more" original condition, they would surely want to put a steering wheel on the car that "looks" like it's had just a little less wear... :p Ya think?

Just my opinion, of course... :D

It is a pretty little thing despite its provenance issues.
