. OH HELL NO!!! That hood adds character! >>> Kid: Hey mister, what happened to the hood? .... You: "Well son, when the boost kicks in, the paint simply can’t hang on." Image Unavailable, Please Login .
Actually, the best thing to do is what someone on BaT suggested: buy another hood, paint it, and store this one. Then, when you go to sell the car, you can put this one back on it.
The rest of the paint is in need of serious help. So I wouldn't just paint the hood. I'd leave it as is Not perfect but still sweet.

This car is fairly rough condition for 71k miles. Additionally dealer installed A/C (even the factory A/C was marginal at best) but if purchased for the right price then putting another $15k - $20k in the car to smooth the rough spots could be worth while.
I'm pretty sure that is factory A/C. I believe it was standard for the 930 in North America, and that is what factory A/C in a 911 or 930 of that era looks like (my 75 911S had factory A/C and looked exactly like that). It's funny how one man's "patina" is another man's "rough." Personally, I love that the car is original and documented and has great patina. Just what I would want. It seems like it has been well taken care of over the years, and the fact that the fabric interior has survived is a pretty good indicator.
Nope, I have factory A/C and has the vents in the dash not below the dash. Also aftermarket steering wheel adds nothing. I don’t care for worn out interior trim, my 77 930 has none of that worn out interior as I did take care of the interior. Patina is just a euphemism for worn and shabby. I don’t care for the shabby look although others think it is historic. consequently I try to keep my things looking very well cared for with as little patina as possible .
77 is first year for vents in the dash. This car is a 76. I agree about the steering wheel, though! Not a difficult fix.
