Pistons and valve etc are industry stanard items. There are many companies out there that do only this service. But when you get into complex components like the internals of an automatic transmisson tolorences become critical and the materials must be the same as used orignaly.

You also have to keep in mind the replicating older stuff is much easier then replicating newer parts. Many newer parts are made from plastics that would require moulds to be made, they are now using more exotic metals in cars, that would be very expensive to buy. So many things that are built for cars are a one time use item only. When it breaks you replace it. Mainly because it would cost more to fix then to replace.
