So, on my first drive of my ' 05 spider, won't go into 1st or 2nd when car is warm. Just got it delivered last weekend! Already going back to Ferrari. Dealer said that a complete inspection was done, guess they missed something! Let's hope this isn't a sign of things to come!

Install the hill engineering bearing. My car had same issue first to second. Improved witht the bearing even though little wear on the plastic original.

However, 1st to 2nd seems to be a common cold issue on all Fcars.

My 430 manual car is the same way. After starting her, I put the car gear shift in neutral, and release the clutch, let sit for 3 minutes before driving, this warms up the throwout bearing and puts a a little temp into the gearbox oil. Then gentle shifts until the car is up to temp.

I did notice if I just start her and drive, then I must shift 1st to 3rd, on my very 1st upshift, its fine after that. These cars do not preform well until all systems reach proper operating temp. Not just engine oil, but trans oil and even the brakes.

Makes me wonder about the long term value of 10+ year old Ferrari that has very low mileage, short running times and infrequent starting, are IMHO the worst thing that can be done to these wonderful machines.
