Help, have a problem with the correct part number for the small black plastic trim piece pictured below. the parts book reference is # 66383800. However that part has a cost of $1598 need both Left and right side. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sounds like a real candidate for 3D printing. Both Maranello Classic Parts and Eurospares have ridiculous prices for the pieces.
I think gt car parts took mine to model then to 3d print them. I don't mean that in a negative way. They were welcome to. I just can't confirm they got around to it but I do believe that was their plan. You might want to check with them
That's correct the opposite side has th same reference # 57 in the parts book but is also incorrect for this small piece of trim
The part number is correct - I have the invoice for one for my car purchased Jul 2010 from Stratstone, Manchester. The description is 66383800 RH Side door. At that time it cost £38.04...
I'm in the same boat. Finishing a drive in mine a year or two ago I noticed the right trim piece was missing. I found one for about $500 but didn't buy it., and now they're even more. It's my candidate for the most ridiculously expensive Ferrari part, which given Ferrari, is really saying something.. I've started to model the part in SolidWorks and have got a nice Stratasys 3D printer at work, but it's FDM, which extrudes .01" thick layers. With a part that has various shallow angles this makes a somewhat rough surface. One solution would be to cover it with leather, which would look good, I think. But a resin 3D printer would give a very fine surface that probably no one would notice as not OEM. I'll have one of these someday and when I do I'll make a bunch (like 10 or so). Or I could even sell them, for, perhaps, double the cost to produce. If I could sell one to 10% of the fleet, that could be nearly $100! Do you think Ferrari would send their lawyers after me?
