Ideally looking for a 2004-2007 Subaru sti with under 2000 miles on the clock. Under 1000 is a home run. Willing to pay top dollar. Would keep the car forever. fchat probably isn’t the best place to post this, but figured I’d give it a whirl. Thanks

Here's a Subaru question. If you find one with less than 2,000 miles on it, how many head gaskets do you think it's already been through? ;)

I have a perfect 2004 STi with 7K miles. But it's not for sale.

Good luck in your search. They are utterly amazing cars and a blast to drive.

Yeap. I have a Legacy, with EJ25, that as of last week has an external coolant leak behind the water pump. I'm hoping it's a waterpump gasket, but it's almost certainly the driver's side HG:(

You never know what you might find on FChat, but sub 1000 miles is sure rare, hard enough to find one that is normal mileage that isnt beat to hell. Great cars.

Just curious how 2000 miles made it as the ceiling? I really don’t understand this obsession with ultra low mileage (unless you are a museum).

Anyway, good luck with search and I hope you find one.

I know he's a Porsche guy and not a Subaru guy, but maybe check with Ryan Friedman Motorcars, they are one of the best at picking up ultra low mileage mint cars. Maybe he knows someone.

    Thanks for replies
It’s the one car I always wanted to buy but in 2003 I was too young to even drive.

These are truly the best of the STi.
I had an '04 in '03 and another '04 in '05 until '09. They can take an absolute beating. I suggest finding a clean car with the mods you like (or stock) to enjoy and keeping your eye open for a low mileage car to grab and then unload the one you've been driving in the interim.

Personally, I think finding an '04 that still doesn't have a radio would be the long term collector.
