Do you believe the caps won in spite of Trotz ? Not being facetious, sincerely curious. Had to be tough to let him go (continuity) the year they win their first cup.
Rumours are that the assistant deserves the credit as it was his system that was implemented during their cup run. Barry Trotz is a good coach who finally got over the hump, but was it him or his assistant?

I don't think it's more goals per se, but want to stop goalies from wearing larger and larger pads just because they can. The league regulated shin pads in the same way a while ago. They were getting out of control too.
Right, Joker. This was the Garth Snow rule. He was a big guy anyway and started experimenting with pads that made him look like BIB the Michelin Man
If you watch highlights from the 80s, the goalies look Ike they are wearing only a t-shirt under their jersey, and their pads were thinner than today's players' shin pads.
The season is coming. Bets have been placed on VGK, Sharks, and Jets to win outright. Somehow Maple Leafs are high odds to win which seems crazy. If that happens I will be happy enough...no money needed! Drop the puck already!!! Let's see how many games I can attend this year.
