Wow the Sharks looked completely flat in their home opener. Ducks beat them 5-2 but honestly, not a lot of hustle.
This guy never learns. Maybe taking away a good part of his salary for the year might. If he does it again, look for the entire year.
The NHL is taking it seriously with head trauma. The long term survival of the sport may depend on it. The NFL has a different problem as-- lets face it -- tough hits to the head are just part of the game. But there is no reason in the NHL for player to hit each other intentionally in the head to cause injury. Its a tough contact sport but most of it is body to body, not head to head. VGK also lost a key player for use of banned substances for 20 games. Its tough but it has to be done to maintain the integrity of the sport.

Isn't this Wilson's fourth suspension over the past couple years? Hockey double header tonight. Opening night for Hurricanes...will this be the year they crack the playoffs? And then I'm tuning into Flyers-VGK. I am so unhappy that the only Flyers visit this year is opening night...I was planning on coming out. Chances of them meeting in SC Final???? don't think so. It's only the second period, but VGK is down 5-1. Not a good showing. I did not have a good feeling about tonight's game. They need to quit worrying about the pregame ******** and play the game.

That Bellemare goal, though (Former Flyer) in the VGK game was a thing of beauty. The game was over by then. Canes with a very impressive win at Columbus last night. They are starting SEVEN rookie forwards! They have allowed two regulation goals in two games.
Vegas thrilling victory today! First loss ever for the Wild in their home opener. Vegas out played them most of the game but had to tie with an empty net, survive a penalty in overtime, and win with the last shot of the shootout. God I love hockey season!
