I wish they would use tires with compounds more separate apart. Some of these tires last almost the same as the next tire up/down.
Aww....isn’t it cute they’ve renamed the tyre compounds, it was soooo difficult working out which was which when they were named hard, medium, soft, super soft and ultra soft....... now it’s so much clearer, C1 thru 5......... another pointless change that actually would deter new viewers from knowing what the **** is going on
Liberty blames Bernie Ecclestone for F1's growing calendar problems - try reasearching first before buying LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/142049/liberty-blames-ecclestone-for-draining-gps
Good god....are they retarded? Who buys a 9 billion dollar business without doing the research? They bought F1 3 years ago, nows not the time they start complaining.
Right. So now the problem is that Ferrari is earning too much. Liberty is using the same business model than Bernie: everybody needs to reduce their share except themselves.
There is a great joke that (supposedly) came out of the Soviet leadership that, I think, applies here. On his accession to the Premiership, the new Premier met with the outgoing leader. The departing Premier told his new charge: on your desk you will find two letters. When you hit your first crisis, open the first. It will tell you what to do. Sure enough, about a year into his rule, the new Premier hits a rough patch. Thinking back to his first day, he reaches into the desk and pulls out the envelope. Opening it, he reads: "When you have your first crisis, blame everything on me and all will be well." The new Premier does as the letter advises, and soon enough the difficulties pass. About a year later, another rough patch arises. Thinking back to his first crisis, he eagerly dives into the desk to find the 2nd letter. Upon opening it, he reads: "Welcome to your 2nd crisis. There is only one thing for you to do. Sit down and write two letters..."
Can see how the extra point will always go to whichever team has two cars in a row, the last few laps. The second slows down and lets the one in front pit and get fastest lap. Stupid rule. Not to mention sister teams giving back position if someone from the big three decides to pit for it.
Complete muppets. Acquisition was driven by ego. Bernie had his faults, don't we all ? But he was smart and methodical, maxing out the business for the benefit of all invested parties.
It was most certainly not for the benefit of all parties...the sport was being bled dry for CVC, and Bernie by extension...
Yeah, he ran a sport he put his hard work into and made sure he maxed out his earnings from it..... what a bastard.... NOT... that’s capitalism fellas, you work hard, you get the rewards...... so what if others are upset at it, they can work hard, find a niche market and exploit it if they want to, but they chose an easy life and a pay packet every week (or welfare) so why should anyone care how they feel about it?
Bernie has been astronomically rich since the early 80s, and no one really begrudged him this... The problem was Bernie was just the errand boy for the CVC by the end...itself an entirely souless entity, just a money sucking vaccuum with no passion of caring racing cars or sport other than it's ability generate maximum short tern profits, the long term health of the sport be damned. The gutting of of the European calendar, the generic Tilke playmat circuits sprouting up in far flung places devoid of any grassroots motorsport interest - that's all laid on his doorstep (along with partner in crime, Max.)
Max was long gone when the damage to f1 was done, and that was with the pussification of the rules with eco friendly ******** and car makers calling the shots, that wasn’t Bernie’s doing, it was the manufacturers that demanded changes to engines etc
Bernie personally helped independent team owners when they hit challenging times. They won't get that personal touch with Corporate America.
