I have been searching for info on this series of 250 Gt's and it has amazed me how little info there is commonly available about these cars. When new, these were great cars, now they have regained respect after years of falling out of the lime light. Is it possible for everyone to post any pictures they have of either Boano's or Ellena's with serial numbers (if known) in either vintage or modern era's? I have only found a small number of current era pictures, but am ABSOULTELY amazed at how few vintage era pictures there seem to be......
Interesting exterior color combination. Looks like black with bronze - it that the original combination? Jeff
The car above was on consignment to Fantasy Junction earlier this year. It sold at Gooding's at Pebble Beach last month--for $605,000. I believe it was at an RM Auction a couple of years earlier as well. Best wishes, Ken Goldman
This is, based on the Fantasy Junction site, 0641 GT or 0641GT I would like this thread to become a GREAT refernece thread.... In order to do that, The photo AND s/n needs to be mentioned so we can see the differences ..... It seems all models have subtle differences.... Whether Boano or Ellena, the 250 GT that was made by both builders seems way to ignored here.... Oddly, I figured the Boano name was more respected in Ferrari/Itailian terms.... From google searching, I realized, that Boano was a Ghia Guy and the Ellena family fronted the money for him to do his own thing once Ghia died (at least this is commonly refferenced in Fiat/Alfa searches). This is the reason why the name came back to Ellena, versus the father-in-law (Boano) "gifting" the business to his son-in-law, Ellena. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. I am amazed at the lack of photo's of cars both in current era and vintage era. Where are they now and where have they been?
For this thread to strive and continue, we will all have to contribute what we can... After searching for a great period, I would have to say that I have found pics of "Identifiable" cars at about a rate of 5-10 verifiable s/n's pf commonly available pictures. I know we know more than that and even F-Chat doesn't have a database that pulls on this search criteria.... If you don't have a s/n but have a location of photo, please post.... Common era photo's are appreciated, but please give as much info as possible... If you happen to have ANY vintage photo's......Please post them regardless of what they are or where they are....... And for this matter, anything you have, both interior an exterior..... Interior photo's seem to be even more rare..... I know it is simple, but ALL these cars make up what we enjoy today.......

Shawn If you can gather enough data/interest I will be happy to spin up a Boano and/or Ellena Registry website for you as I have done for PF Coupes. Now I have the wireframe for the PF site setup it takes me about a two minutes to update a page with info and photos and publish. I have made start here and included the cars from this thread : http://web.me.com/djaffrey/Boano/Home.html However any site is only is good as its data ! Cheers Darren.
Oh and I have tried to respect copyright where it was stated on the photos. If anyone sees a photo they want withdrawn from the website I will of course do so. Darren.
Actually ignore previous posts....I realised i was just repeating a perfectly good site that is Barchetta. Mod can you delete my links.
I have been trying to find out more about the Ellenas too. My friend owns chassis 0817GT and we have been trying to research it's history. Barchetta seems to be one of the best places to get information on the Ellena anyway. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I believe the s/n is 0861. It was entered in the 2008 Colorado Grand. -F Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Lime Rock and no I don't, but the more recent one was a Fla registration I believe. All the photos I posted were shot by me. Use them as you like.
This question might have been posted already but what is the difference between the Ellena's and Boano's? Boano's have a lower roof line? James
