Yep, that GTO body is a replica that was built up new a few years ago on the original chassis. I hope they fix the roof also at it does not look correct.

Who made the body a few years ago? Motion Products?

It would be interesting to know if they re-arranged the nose based on an old photo taken before Le Mans 1962, or if they just sort of copied how 3413 & 3451 looked early on. Here in the cheap seats we can only guess...

Yes, the Drogo body was very beautiful. Since having the Drogo body, has 3445GT been rebodied twice in GTO '62 style?

Just realised which car this is thanks to your photo......For many years it belonged to Robs Lamplough who lived in a mews just off Kensington High Street in London UK. I recall seeing this parked and driven all over London in the 1970's. I'm sure he used it as his everyday car......How times have changed....

I think the replica body was made by Allegretti. The nose was modified later and the car repainted. What was left of the original Drogo body is now on #2423GT.

Thanks. Terra replied yesterday to a question I asked about 3445GT in the David Piper restores the Talacrest P4 thread as below. Was the car rebodied again after the time referred to below? Tilomagnet and F1tommy said that the body was new and/or made a few years ago on page 9 of this thread.

There could be one in the trunk as well. During some period races more than one was carried.

Just wanted to state that my questions in relation to 250 GTO 3445GT are in no way in criticism of it. It's an absolutely fantastic car and I am just interested in finding out about its very interesting history including all the bodywork it has had. It's great that Ferrari Classiche are carrying out/overseeing the repairs from its accident last year, who will ensure its recovery to its former glory.

Does anyone have photos of 3445 taken before Le Mans? The car was almost 2 months old already and there must be a real reason for restoring the nose as it is now. I would like to think that current configuration is based on something else than a guess... but you never know!

Should be #3445GT with Sergio Bettoja at the Parma-Poggio hillclimb in 1962.

Great photo! Definitely explains the nose configuration on rebuilt car! Best wishes, Kare

The car was NOT rebodied when it was restored a few years ago by Wayne Obry's 'Motion Products, Inc.' However, the nose was modified by them to resemble one of its earlier period configurations.
