I think the organizer pays some for the transport for the car? and the owner not have to pay anything for the starting?
otherwise it would be stupid to participate

AND.......... with Spencer Martin in the Black drivers suit, a true gentleman of Australian motor sport, and one with a long history with the 250LM, it was great to see him on the track.

Lower pic shows the real 250 LM (with 3 liter engine) and S/N 5149.
    All others had 3.3 liters.

That’s at Richard Freshman’s ‘Fossil Motorsports’ in Chatsworth, California. Looks like the blue Morgan Babydoll IV in the left-side background.

Yes I believe so with the old Shell gas pump over in the left corner there.

A photo from Daytona 1966 which I was gifted by Alexis Callier. There is a second 275LM behind this one but difficult to determine which one it is.

That is 6051 which I got to test at Moroso, Cavallino Classic 1998 for a cover article (issue 105 IIRC) which I was very happy with mainly thanks to a brilliant phone interview with Jackie Epstein.

    A great character.

He said the worst experience in all his racing in Europe, Africa and the US was dealing with a Noe Yuck car dealer to buy a station wagon to tow the LM from NY to Daytona.

Is this one of the (later) Drogo long nose cars?

The car behind must be the #28 as seen in above photo of Eric della Faille (another fellow countryman),
with at least two spectators/driver(?) watching at the same spot.
