According to Starkey's book (p15) this car was found in pretty much Junk state condition in Southern California in 1983. Boy would I have loved to find this car back then. Its completely restored now....

The car in the Tour Auto Videos is 250GT SWB Alloy Competizione c/n 1613GT, the 2nd car built and without side vents. Interesting history: http://www.barchetta.cc/english/all.ferraris/detail/1613gt.250gt.htm

Let's have another look at 14 Louvre TdF 0703GT. This is the same car as in the first video of post 82 when then owned by John Apen. It's now owned by Greg Whitten, who also owns 250 GTO c/n 3413GT. The nose and rear have been converted back to how they were originally in GW's ownership as he says in his interview at Pebble Beach 2010 (see post 41). Is it my eyes or is the front end more voluptuous on the 14 louvre cars? They are absolutely beautiful as all TdFs are.

Thank you for posting these fantastic videos. This TDF in my view is among the top3 most prettiest and desirable Ferrari ever made. I think a 250 TR Pontoon fender might give this competition as well as 375MM spyder but its a close call between all three. Absolutely stunning! Mr Whitten has very good taste.

They are very beautiful. The more I look at them the more I like them. Here's a short Motoring Journal article with some nice pics of TdF c/n 0555. Click on the link and the pics to enlarge them.

Interesting thread here, especially post 4. You may already have seen this but just a reminder that provenence is everything. Provenence of the provence too as note what is said about some of the paperwork. Extreme due diligence must be exercised in the buying of a car of these values.

That is ABSOLUTELY stunning! Beautiful color combination. Wow. The only thing that I would change but it is not even critical is putting the original chrome bumpers on. Back and Front. I am becoming a complete TDF fan, everyday a little bit more.

On another subject but very related: After doing research I have found 5 TDF's that are for sale (all by private dealers) and three SWB (all steel versions and also private treaty sales). This tells me 1) that even though TDF are rare they can always be found 2) the market must be strong and some people (perhaps the smart money) is selling at these strong Ferrari prices.

What range are the asking prices for TdF and steel SWB currently?

The TDF's all 1-3 louvers $3.55 - 4.3m and the SWB do not know all the prices but my best guess is that the range would be around $4.1 to $4.9m. It really a very rough estimate though and cannot be reliable as the exchange rates are now different to when I started inquiring...

Here is 0733GT. I displayed it at Road&Tracks Concours July 14.
Many questioned the paint scheme. Also, I displayed Pouret's resource
which depicts this car pre-start the 1957 Tour de France. This display
    solved the queries.

Here's the thread you started on 0733GT. Some great pics by Tom Tanner (F1tommy) of it when you showed the car on July 14 on page 2. It's very beautiful. You must be very proud to own such a wonderful car that belonged to your father too.

I like this paint color. It was typical of many Ferrari's of the 1950's - I think is very vibrant and suits the styling of these old cars very well. Congratulations on your fine car. Thank you for sharing.
