    Hello,
I have never seen one of the '59 - '62 offset TR gearboxes offered. This german auction company Nicola - AC will have one in their sale as lot #769

Maybe the chance to build a correct recreation with the offset engine? What do you think about it being out of 0780? Are there any other parts known to be left?

    Hi "Ginther"

You aren't the consignor, are you?
I am aware that the consignor is having a hard time to accept the truth.
I was personally involved in checking with the factory and the piece originates from #0780 TR, a car that ceased to exist late 1961.
And it does NOT belong to 0792 TR or 0794 TR, I verified that personally.
And no, 0780 TR did not become 0808 TR.

No, I am not the consignor of the gearbox housing, because if I would be, I would not part with this piece.

But I would like to find out more about the gearbox, thanks to Mr. Massini on this matter.
I am aware that 0780TR stopped existing in 1961, but as it was dismantled at the factory I would like to know if anything is known about the other components. Were they reused on other cars or were they sold of separately?
As the Tipo 547 gearbox fits the TRI61 as well, was this housing potentially bought by Volpi as a spare for his 0792TR?

Also I do think that you could get this gearbox built by one of the Modenese specialists quite easily. Thoughts on this?

Thank you very much in advance!

Suggest you ask Count Volpi. TTBOMK he appears to live near Geneva, Switzerland.
In any case, that gearbox housing has nothing, zero to do with 0792 TR. No matter what people are trying to make out of all this.

For a full build from scratch with recasting the housing I am not so sure. I am talking about completing the gearbox with internals.

Can anybody explain to me what the differences between the Tipo 547 (1960?), the Tipo 532D (1961?) and the Tipo 568 (1962?) are? Was the Tipo 547 also used in 1959?
