I recall seeing a website with a replica 250 Testarossa with a Dino V6 drivetrain. If anyone know this site, would they please send me a link to it?

    Thanks

I own an 86 TR and I don't even know what a 250 TR is......

LOL! Turn in your keys, until you read at least three history books!

Actually, in '57 they painted all the racing motor valve covers red!

V12s and also some DOHC 4s.

Shouldn't that actually be "250 Testa Rossa" (2 words)?

Speedy - it was just a quick copy/paste from a site. Meant nothing to be factual, but I should have read it over before posting it. Because it is written on the internet must mean it is 100% without a doubt true - right? ha!

90tr - yeup, it should. Testa Rossa was the original designation because of the 'red head'[ed] valve covers on the 12.

I find this a terribly fascinating thread. I love replicas done with genuine Ferrari parts. Attached is a picture of a TR replica with a Ferrari engine. Might even be a Dino drivetrain.

Sranderson, if you wish I could probably get you in contact with the owner, who also has 512BBi racing version replica on Ferrari basis.

And then there was this replica racing around Blackhawk:

Not sure, whether that is supposed to be a TR or not.

This one probably does not have a Ferrari engine. The owner only gave me an evasive answer when I asked him.

Steve, if you need this guy's information, let me know too.

I always thought there was a certain counterfeit stigma assigned to replica's.

Either way those are some nice looking replica's.

The sad thing is I probably couldn't even afford a REPLICA 250TR. ;)

Let me take that back. Looking at this other picture I took, there might be a V6 underneath:

I definately would not admit that around here. your Testarossa which means Red Head in Italian is named after the conquering, Le Mans winning, race cars of the 50s the Mythical 250 TR
(Testa Rossa ) which now cost around $5M, if you can find an owner who will part with his car
