296 GTB or 296 Spider?

They are not closed in Australia.

 

I am curious for those ordering a 296GTB or 296GTS, is anyone specifying the Assetto Fiorano package? Why/why not?

I have not noticed it on too many of the specs that have been shared online.

 

I ordered it, I want the most hardcore version. Initially thought stripe was included. I happen to like it, but it’s $22k by itself I believe, silly. Whatever, I upped my spec after I drove it, I think the 296 is the best car I’ve ever driven. I have never experienced that much power in a rwd car. I had an sf90 and just think this was better as a driver.

 

Ordered a Spider. Did not order the AF pkg.
I understand that the stripe pkg is not mandatory. I'm not a race car driver, and the Spider is not a race car. I won't ever track the car, so don't need the option.
It's not inexpensive. For my driving needs, I don't need it.
If you want/need it, order it. It's your car.

 

the longer its taking to get my allocation the closer i am to ordering the AF as my budget goes up. definite must have. i want the most hardcore version. and i like to track my cars.

 

I ordered the 296 GTS without AF package for the following reasons:

- The front lift is a must have where I live. You can't get it with AF package. You may be able to install Novitec's lift system retroactively (like with SF90), but that's still an uncertainty.
- I think the AF package is made for track driving, and I don't really consider GTS to be a track car. If you want hardcore track car, I think one should go for GTB.
- Your inside door panels come in carbon fiber with the AF package. I preferred them to be in alcantara.

 

I plan to not order the AF package for the same reasons. Not sure when I get to, but I was able to snag an allocation!!
