I put down a deposit of $40K a month ago when the dealer mentioned there was a chance to get a "VSS." I naturally thought it was the Spider model.
After the Speciale A revealed on April 29th, the dealer informed me that the deposit was actually for the coupe model. He also mentioned that I wasn't eligible to bid on the Aperta model because there were so many VIP and TOP customers ahead of me in the waiting line.

I'm not trying to point fingers with the dealer. They've been so helpful and supportive since I bought my first Ferrari, and I really appreciate it.
Right now, I'm loving my 296 GTS, and before that, I had an F8 Spider. I always prefer the Spider model over the Coupe. So, if I had to choose, I'd go for the VSS over the VS.

I also put a deposit down for a 992.2 GT3 for my track days, which is another complication.
I know Speciale give me a huge excitement on track, but I still need an open-airing car with decent sound on the road.

I'm a little torn about whether to keep my order for Speciale. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

No, other european dealer. I do not want to make a fuss about it as the dealer and Ferrari decide who will get one …

I think you should write directly to the factory explaining your situation, customer and sales department.

The reason I asked is that Ferrari are well known for wanting to keep any fault quiet . They also upgrade many things on a model over its life and never inform even the dealers , things just happen .

Same here; I own a 296 GTS and can only get the 296 Speciale coupe. Owned an F8 before that.
Not sure if I will upgrade to the coupe to be honest. You lose tons of money on the GTS and the Speciale coupe, I believe will not hold value at all.

The 296 GTS is a very good car; yet I'm thinking of going back to Pista

Also just got my 992.2 GT3T; you will love it!

Consider getting the 296Speciale, cancel the gt3rs, buy 296Challenge for track. You get the best of both worlds!

    Also prefer Spiders.
    GT3RS incoming - only reason I buy Ferrari's - Spiders.
With Tariffs Porsches have gone north - Ferrari's gone south - VS coupe does not justify my 296GTS.
We all have our reasons - pick yours.

Yes F N A seems to operate as their own little fiefdom. They seem to jealousy guard their discressionary budget and are only interested in sending as much gold as possible back home...

Their maths are a bit out 406k euro is £345k not £385k like that said, also the Pista came fully loaded with carbon in the UK so there was very little to add, I managed about £20k of options on mine, if the Speciale follows the same path I would think £370 max unless you go triple layer paint Carbon Wheels etc which I will not be doing.

Are the dealers accepting deposits and committing to you that you will get a 296 Speciale (as of now)... just curious

No, but you would get your deposit back if Ferrari cancels the order after 2 years :)

I can't imagine what the full carbon bill is going to be. Carbon lower dash and lower area? C'mon, how cool is that!

Yeah - it looks incredible in the rendered photos (and I bet will look even better IRL) but man - there's a lot of carbon bits that I think will add up. Feels like full exterior + interior carbon will end up around $100k, on top of which adding triple layer paint, best weight seats, and a couple of other things, you can see $200k in options pretty easily.

It does need a bright racy color. Rosso TRS would be hot with the bigger flake. The green looks great, VERS or Jewel would both rock. Dino metallic or even Blu Corsa would be sharp.

Considering my favorite again, Rosso Maranello. Azzurro Dino Mica may be cool too.

Have Rosso TRS on my GTS and it’s STUNNING! Can’t imagine what it’d look like on the Speciale! However, the green is really growing on me!
