Quick update, we have discussions with two carpet weaveries here who have the equipment and knowledge to do this. Now need to check about the sourcing raw jute material and creating the right dye but for now it looks feasible. As soon as i have something tangible like first production samples i'll create a poll to check how many of you would be interested in which color combination, then we can check how much should be produced and what the cost will be. Sounds great! Thanks for the legwork. Do you know what colors were offered? Going by memory, I recall seeing: 1. yellow-ish tan / Black 2. Blue / Black 3. Red / Black There must be a good 308 brochure which shows the possibilities. Best Bruce
According to Bluemel's Original Ferrari V8 there were four color combinations (black/red, black/beige, black/tan, black/blue) although i think i have never seen black/beige (lighter beige) but just black/tan (darker beige) on a car. Black/tan seems to be most common, followed by black/blue and then black/red but that guess is just based on what i have seen so far. Fave already sent a carpet sample for reference (thanks!) but i might also need one of the other colors, will let you know.
I have both the Blue with BLack and Tan with Black "NEW" if you need and the blue I see blue carpets I have there are two shades of blue I guess different dye lots AL
Al, could you put the two different blues on a scanner or photograph them and post them here? Would be great to have a look.
Jay, What color do you have know in your car I may have some extra carpet I bought and is your a Euro or US car the cuts are not the same AL
Thanks Al. Mine is an early Series 1 US car. Original color was Noccia Metallico, then it was painted red and then yellow. Interior is now all black.
Quick question, what is the difference between the non US and US model regarding the shape? The spares manual seem to list only one trunk carpet set.
This is really great that you are making a re-issue of these! I had one question regarding the liners mounted inside the trunklid: How were they originally held on? Glue? Mine have fallen off the inside of the trunklid, and I tried using industrial velcro to hold them on so that they were less permanent but still stick there, but that didn't really adhere well to the back of the jute. What adhesive or other method will you use to mount these new versions?
The back of the original jute carpet is coated for easy installation, so you just need a quality carpet glue (carpet adhesive) for the installation. Carpet glue stays flexible so you can always (gently) remove the carpet if you need to. I plan to have the reissue of the carpets coated in the same way the original carpet was made.
im still trying to find the correct match for my 1/18 scale GT4! I have only seen tan/black & blue/black I am interested in new ones also but mine main problem I have some streaks looks like water stain and have not tried out of fear to get them out! Ditto here on the colors. Rob, I always thought my trunk carpets were in really good condition. Yours look cleaner than mine! Why would you want to replace them? Originality counts, too!
So we have owners with black/tan (lighter) black/beige (darker) and black/blue. I've seen all of these colors in person but not yet black/red. Anyone with black/red here who could post a photo. It should have come with a red interior.
Here are the colors I have Two shades of blue and the most comon black and biege AL Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
