Adrian, sorry I have yet to do the same on the US carpet set. All available time going into working with the machine shop on my engine rebuild. Will try to get it done this weekend. Cheers. John
Hi Could I please put my name on a set from the second run, if not sold out. Beige/Black please. Regards Philip Roberts
This sounds like an amazing effort! So are you still getting the other colors? I asked for blu/blk, but would be delighted with beige/black if this is where it stops. Also, I realize there are more interested Ferrari owners trying to restore their GT4's. Since you are getting closer as seen by the first articles which look beautiful, have you considered the price for the set? Many-many thanks for taking this on. Bruce
I haven't calculated the carpet price for a set yet as i am unsure how much is required for an US GT4. My assumption is that it requires around 4 sqm, so the cost for the carpet material would be below $400. You need to add the cost of a local shop for cutting and lining the carpet pieces from the supplied carpet roll, as well as the vinyl material for the border lining. A possible second run would include beige/black, blue/black and red/black if anyone can supply a photo/sample of the red/black carpet. For the US i am talking to Strictly Ferrari for offering complete sets in the next run.
Hello, Adrian... I'm just checking back to see if you are ready to get rid of (aka sell) some black/tan GT4 carpet.
I have the rolls and packaging organized and am looking for a shipping service which is not as expensive as the carpet itself. Next stop is setting up the list of people who ordered a carpet and getting an idea how many carpets are available (based on EU/US roll length) and then do the shipping accordingly.
Ok, i've tried to list all orders based on the incoming date via post, poll or pm. See below, if you are still interested (or if i missed your order) then please send me an email to [email protected], please add if you have an US or EU car and which color (beige/black or blue/black). Please note that i'll just ship a roll of carpet, you need to manage turning it into a set of pieces your GT4, which involves sourcing the black vinyl edge trim. An alternative approach could be that i'll ship all of the ordered carpet material to Al/Strictly Ferrari and he produces ready to install sets (Al, would that be ok?). A carpet roll for an EU car will cost $350 (1.40x3.80 meter) , for an US car $380 (1.40x4.20 meter), not including packaging and shipping. Pricing per roll is for the current batch to cover my cost. The current first batch is around 10 beige/black and 6 blue/black sets, i'll ship in the order of the list below. (The actual amount of carpet available is based on wether you need an US or EU set due to the length of each piece) Again, thanks for the patience, it has been quite a ride to get here, Adrian Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry, i messed up the pricing calculation by not catering for the coating material and the actual amount of carpet supplied in my excel. The corrected prices are unfortunately 15% higher than what i posted previously. So a carpet roll for an EU car will actually cost $400, for an US car the cost is $440.
Ship mine with the rest to Al for my US car. I am in no rush so when ever he gets around to making a set I will buy it from him I am not sure if Al wants to take this on but he is expanding his bussiness and since he has the know how and people who know how to do this and also cars in his shop, to me if he wants to take this on it would be a no brainer. Adrain along with others I am in your debt, as my new GT4 needs carpet!!! your pal Rob
Hi Adrian, Glad to here that the first run of carpet will on its way and I will accept and send Robert Garven's USA carpet and will be willing to help any other Gt4 US customers in the USA and I can ship it to them via Ups ground. Please send me an email with the total cost of my carpet order and a list of other here in the US that have paid you and want me to accept there carpet. On a good market note the 1976 Blue 308 Gt4 is now sold ! At the selling price Regards Al Image Unavailable, Please Login
All, Unless you are Betsy Ross I am suggesting you take Al up on his kind offer. He has US and Euro cars in his shop so the kits will be done right and fit. Rob
Adrian, I have layed out the US carpet pieces but need to know which way the pattern runs in order to make sure I have it right. I currently have the ||| pattern running parallel to the 140cm width. I think it will take less carpet if I can run the pattern perpendicular to the 140cm width. Please let me know which way the pattern runs. Cheers, John Image Unavailable, Please Login
Agreed. After looking at the template used for the Euro set and trying to lay my carpet pieces out in a similar manner I concluded that this layout would not work for the pattern on my carpet pieces.
All, it seems on my car the black threads run parallel to the width of the car, and the tan threads run parallel to the front to rear axis of the car. Rob Image Unavailable, Please Login
Adrian and Al, My preference for the set (U.S. version, beige/black) would be to have it sent to Al for finishing. Assuming that is acceptable to both of you, please let me know by PM or email the details of logistics, payment, etc. Thanks to both of you for doing this. I really appreciate it. Jack
Yes I just dont know the orientation of the pattern on the material that Adrian has ordered. I offered to lay out the US carpet pieces to determine how much material he needed.
The black threads run along the length of the roll (or supplied carpet piece in 265 cm or 300 cm length). The blue or beige threads runs from the left to the right of the width (140 cm) of the carpet roll. Compare the rear piece on the attached photo with the layout in post #223. I just noticed that i mixed up square meters and length in my previous post, it should be: EU carpet requires 140cm x 265 cm = 3,71 sqm US carpet requires 140cm x 300 cm = 4,20 sqm (assumption) Image Unavailable, Please Login
