I have been advised by a third party that the trunk carpet is sold out. I don't know if this is true, but if so it is quite disappointing, after all this time, and then not to be advised about it by Adrian. If anyone here has different information please let us know.
I've been wondering if ReOriginals or some other shop managed to find a number that would be too enticing for Adrian to ignore. I hope that's not the case, and will be sad if it turns out to be true. It's always interesting to see what price people are willing to put on reputations and integrity. BTW, that applies to both sellers and buyers.
Adrian is the nicest guy in the world! I have seen the carpet and it is perfect! I need another US set my self, and I am sure Adrian will make another batch if the need is there!!!
That was my impression, too. I'd love to see the follow-through, or at least understand the radio silence. Like Jack, I have been patient and supportive, and want to see this to the happy ending. Rgds, Mark
It would be nice if we could have some finality. Either the carpet is, or will be, or will not be available. A simple answer would be appreciated. Waz.
Has anyone else but me attempted to contact Adrian? Regardless of the positive comments above, failing to respond to multiple messages and posts over a period of months is not acceptable.
I contacted him several times, and I did receive a response about a week ago that he's going through a very busy time. I too eagerly and anxiously await to put original trunk carpet back in my car. I hope things smooth out soon so he can fulfill the rest of us. This sounds like a big pain in the neck to do. Hope he doesn't completely run out of steam. In Europe, there's a big shut down about August, maybe this will be a good time? Don't know. Fingers crossed.
Hi Robert, Did you do the pilot "fit-check" for Adrian? I think this was one of the issues Adrian was addressing. Nice that he had that concern for quality. Thanks.
On the same subject, my trimmer agreed to cut pieces from a bulk piece of carpet to save Adrian the trouble of custom cutting for US spec cars. I will ask him if he will provide the patterns to Adrian when he finishes. This might help expedite things for Adrian. I agree with all here that I still have hope that after all of this time and all of Adrian's big efforts we will soon have the results.
FWIW I did mention to Adrian that I too would be happy to get raw material, but my preference is a kit. I would have to ship the material to get the borders stitched up.
Hello again, i haven't been able to do much in the last months due to a chronic work overload, i asked a friend to help me with the logistics and shipping so hopefully i can get this started again between work and job related travelling. Sorry for being hard to reach via mail/PM, i barely managed to visit Fchat the last six months. Have recalculated the shippings based on US carpets requiring a length of four meters to match this against current storage, here is a quick overview which is hopefully correct. Helping out 28 F-chatters! Very cool. Thanks. Do you have the cost figured out, and how to pay? Does PayPal work?
Adrian Welcome back, beware of chronic work overload. As I am now retired, can I help with UK distribution? Regards Phil
A friend came over yesterday and helped out with handling the carpet and cutting out the pieces based on the order list, phew Next, setting up the shipping list and getting into contact with the receivers... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Way less than 28 F-Chatters as there is not that much carpet, but trying Paypal and bank transfer is fine. Shipping to the US seems to be about 99, need to check that with the weight again. UK should be cheaper depending on the shipping agent. I'm in the US next week for work and then Japan, so will try to fit this in somehow.
Adrian, Please do not ship mine until I give you a new address. Contact me when you are ready to ship and I will give you the new address. Thank you! Jack
