    I wish that were true. That's why I mentioned we ran pretty even when I had my 328 on the same track with him. I've also had my doors blown off when running the 328 by Subarus. It's a blast to drive, but the chassis layout is old and the spring/shock combo too compromised to run with newer performance cars.

    My advice to everyone is not to worry about it. 308's & 328's are among the most fun cars every built to drive. How they compare in any objective measurement is irrelevant to me, but neither do I delude myself into thinking they are faster than they are. In the end, when I was going for a ride on twisty roads, the 328 went and the STI stayed home. I nick-named the Subaru "ego buster" becasue of what it could do on track days.

    Thanks . . . went with 375 on front and 325 on rear . .. didn't want to end up as hard as my P race car is plus I really like the fact you can get the QA1's out without unbolting any suspension components should I want to go harder. I think my P car is really too hard for autocross also . . . really more setup for big tracks. I've heard plenty of guys at the autocross complain about too much spring rate for autocross vs. track setup.

    My Konis had been re-valved back in '96 and just bouncing the car with the new shock/spring combo I had to put the fronts on 5 to make them feel like my old Koni setup FYI.

    I've had about 20 years of hard core auto-xing.

    The first and biggest improvement comes from tires and bigger wheels, cost $$, harsher ride, less tire mileage.

    Next big change is bigger anti-roll bars, cost $$, slightly harsher ride.

    3rd is stiffer springs & shocks, cost more$$, harsher ride and grinding the bottom of the car off.


    somewhere along the way, you pump the engine, install better brakes, strip out the un needed weight and go to real race tires, wherein the car becomes a real slot car.

    The 308 is no different, it just starts out with a better weight distribution, lower center of gravity, better camber curves and killer looks.

    working on it, (QA-1s 400-350# springs, urethane bushings, F-50 front brakes, 360 challenge rears, 360 wheels goodyear f-1s and hopefully soon big saner bars :)
