I have a 1977 308 GTB that I would like to configure so that I can have running lights on during the day without having my headlights on. Has anyone accomplished this? If so, I would appreciate knowing how you did it.
    Thanks

Does this mod work for all 308s, from early carb to late QV?

I also want to do it to my 1977 GTB...

    Thanks,
    Greg

After researching the bucket disable mod, I wanted to address the sidemarker turn problem. The most satisfying result took a thorough head scratching session.

I did a relay mod requiring two dpdt relays for each side of the car plus one for a latch. This mod causes parking, turn and sidemarker lights to light by pressing a small button accessible in the glove box. Buckets don't open. Off button OR 'key off' turns them off.

In addition, all lights on one side, parking turn & marker, are energized with turn signals or all blink with hazards. I haven't posted the schematic but will when I make a presentable jpeg.

I wanted to do this for years now.
Today i did it and made some pictuires of it.
Although Dave Handa's explanation is very good, its nice to have some pictures to show it.
(specialy for those whose native tongue isn't English)

On the first en second picture you see an overvieuw of the rear of the relaypanel.
You can see the bleu wire going from the 12 o clock position of the second relay to the right going to the 3 o clock and 6 o clock position of the third relay to the right.

questinon arose somewhere in the documentation about the rated voltage of the diodes. the rating is for the reverse breakdown voltage (ie at sufficienlty high voltage current will flow both ways in a diode). for a 12v application anything of 50 volts or higher will work fine. the diode has to have sufficient current rating for the relay ( not very large) jon s.
