Does anyone know if any 308s were ever cut into spyders? Michael Bayer 365GTC/4 + 330GT

Yes, there have been a number of them. Exactly how many, I don't know... and also as far as I know none were factory authorized.
There have been a number of pics and threads to come across f-chat.
Finding those pics/threads might be hard, but do an archive search under 308 spyder, 308 convertible.
I think you can also find a few images on google or yahoo.
There is a Lorenz 308 conversion for sale in Germany. I found it on thecarexperience.com site. Pics can be seen here:
The Lorenz & Rankl company in Germany have made a few 308 and 512 Spyders.
Also the Felber company located in Switzerland have also made a few 308 spyders. One of them (Black/Tan interior have been made into a very rare 1/43è mini by the company Record in 1983).
512BB Spyders N.A.R.T. also exists (1982). I've seen a black/black one with BBS spoke wheels. The car has been made by Chinetti's workers for Mr Preston Henn.
512BB Targa Straman does exists too (with roofs "a la 308"), maybe 308s by Straman.
Many thanks! Am tracking the one in Germany down, Michael Bayer
Have a look to the German part of carpassion.com
I think Cavallino motors either has one for sale or sold one recently. It was around $29k. Looked nice.
I was going to post that, as well......it came from an Owner in a little town outside of Houston, TX....I had never HEARD of it or seen it prior to martin coming over and snagging it........
I thought it was godawful looking. It looked like something you would use to hold open a door. Ugh. There is a REASON they never built the 308 as a full convertible.
Just my opinion!
And you are not wrong.
I saw one in the UK at the FOC Annual Meeting a few years back - it appeared to have lost many of the curves and swooops that define the classic 308 shape.
I seem to recall it reminded me of a convertible Triumph TR7.
There was a red chopped 308 on Ebay about six months ago. If I recall correctly bidding never got above $21 or $22k. IMO it ruins the classic 308 lines and leaves the tail section looking ackwardly long. I saw a 308 convertible in Coconut Grove (Miami) several years ago. I think it looked dreadful.
I saw that one EX - a horrific abortion.
