Has anyone done the research on the compounds used on newer brake pads? I watched a video about the newer type of compounds and technologies making pads since our cars were built in the 80s. Anyone gone through this learning curve? If so, anyone have a suggestion for pad replacements? Just curious as I am about to go with new pads and rebuild my calipers.
I just replaced the pads in my 83. I put in ATE which I believe are the original and have been fine for my road driving. Always felt the 308 had good brakes. How do you use the car?
Mine is just for street use. I was looking at EBC that says it has a ceramic matrix. Supposedly less brake dust. Older pads once had asbestos....then metal in the matrix. Non metallic pads seem interesting to me. However, I do not know a thing about the science of a brake pad. That's why I wanted to see if anyone here had anything to say.
