    Hello all,

Long story short, a future project of mine and a buddy's is to gather suspension point data on his '85 308 QV and input the geometry into some Matlab code and analyze it with the goal of developing new components to improve the handling dynamics of the car.

I have the 328 GTB/GTS Technical Specifications manual (thanks to this very useful thread), and as I've been led to believe, the chassis of the 308 QV is the same as the Serie 1 328, and therefore suspension geometry (is this true?). The chassis diagrams with the pickup points are on pages 44 and 45, and pages 28-30 apparently shows more suspension diagrams (hoping for A-arm geometry/measurements), but at least in the PDF I have, the diagrams on those pages are missing.
    What's on those pages?
Any help here would be massively appreciated, thank you!

    Hugo

No. I believe the front geometry are pretty different. 328 for example had more antidive designed in. The front geometry was different enough it more greatly stressed the lower arm mounting forks causing them to break and that triggered a recall.
The 328 is a very different car from the 308.

I hear you, although I believe the front geometry change you're referring to is the technical update Ferrari made in 1988 to add that anti-dive geometry and steering changes to incorporate ABS, etc., those are Series 2 cars.

    I'm curious if a pre-1988 328 shares suspension components and/or the chassis of a 308 QV?
Also, does anyone have the Technical Specifications document for the 308? Can't seem to find any online, does it exist...?

I think the best that you'll get are the suspension figures in the 308GT4 WSM:

I'd guess that the chassis hitch points of a 308 QV would be shown on page M8 of the 308QV/328 WSM, but the pdf copy I have is missing that page:

Maybe blend them together with measurements you can make on your friend's 308QV?

You can refer to the SPCs at MCP:
    https://www.ferrariparts.co.uk
to see what, if any, suspension parts are shared by them.

Thank you so much for those! I'll dig around there and see what I can find.
Noob here, is the main/only chassis difference between the GT4 and GTS/GTB the longer wheelbase of the GT4, front and rear arms, etc. being the same?

You can check that yourself by looking up various parts in the SPCs at MCP -- at the bottom page of each part it lists what F models the part is used on (I'd guess that 308GT4 and 308GTB/S and 308QVB/S do share a lot of suspension parts).

Ah, that's a logical way to find that out, thanks!
