    Hello,

I am normally more active in the vintage area and have more knowledge there but would need some help in regard to the 328.

I have this toolkit from a Testarossa. I now saw severall times similar kits advertised as 328. I thought the 328 kit always had the sparkplug spanner to the right from the pliers. Yesterday again someone showed me a kit as below and said it is from a 328.Can someine please help to clarify ifvit was ised on the 328 and if yes in what time frame.
    Thanks a lot
    Christopher

Not from a 328: missing the spark plug tool, which is specific to the 328, as the 3,2 liter engine has 12mm plugs, vs 14mm for the 3,0 liter, so the crown of the SPT is smaller, and the assorted 14 combination wrench.

The tool roll you posted pictures of, is official Ferrari factory part number 127736, which is suitable for Testarossas before 75997 RHD / 75998 US / 76004 LHD.
The 328 tool roll official factory part number was 127589, it has one pocket more at the right of the pliers for the spark plug tool for 12mm plugs (Note that the Italian-market only "Turbos" still had the 2-valve engine, so with 14mm plugs and the assorted larger-crown spark plug tool), and the combination wrench 14/14 with the eyelet to go on the spark plug tool, whereas 127736 has a plain 14/15 open-mouthed wrench.

The tool roll for 328s is the essence of simplicity: there was only ONE tool roll for the whole production range, with two small variations:
    - very early tool rolls had screwdrivers with red-brown translucent handles without the white "Ferrari" script, all laters tool rolls had screwdrivers with red-brown translucent handles with the white "Ferrari" script.
    - some tool rolls have a set of "Kravm" wrenches that are not in shiny chrome finish, but in "dull chrome".

And that is all. No other variation is admitted for a 328, there was only ONE tool roll for the whole production range, and that is 127589.
Any other tool roll is simply WRONG. Do not spend any money of anything other than 127589, if you are looking for a 328 tool roll.

See my comments in the enclosed thread.

Unfortunately, it is missing the spark plug tool, which comes in the rightmost pocket, where the emergency light is; this emergency light itself goes in its own small bag; it is usually presented aside the jack bag, but should be inside the car of course to fulfill its purpose (its socket is beneath the dashboard, near the steering column at left).
The extension which is in the pocket at the left of the pliers goes into the jack bag, it is not for the plugs. Perhaps the missing spark plug tool is in the jack bag and has been mixed with the said extension? 328 spark plug tools are rather hard to come by these days, and expensive.

Thanks! Here are the items in my jack bag. The foam around the bulbs, etc, had disintegrated, and I'm trying to recreate it. Comments, please!

Ahah! Sight of relief for you, pal! The correct spark plug tool is here, but in your jack bag!
Soooooo...pull the emergency lamp out of the tool roll, and put the spark plug tool in the same righthandmost pocket; then pull the "extension" out of the pocket at left of the pliers, and in the jack bag.
Battery lift strap and aux. belts with labels to boot, that's O.K.

I'm curious? What is the chromed cylinder thingy below the Spark Plug Tool? And the two "curved at the end" things at right of the Jack Bag?

As for the bulb box, the foam do disintegrate indeed, some people here have made new ones.
BTW, if your car is an "american market" version, you should have a spare spark plug in the middle cradle of your bulb box.

Pull the "extension" at left of the pliers out, and into your jack bag.
Then the pocket at left of the pliers will be empty, but guess what? This is standard factory OEM....

    Nerofer,
Please check out my photos below. What am I missing besides the bag for the light? Many thanks for your help! Mike

Well...see the enclosed thread quoted above:

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/328-tool-kit.514259/

But out of my mind, I don't think you are missing much!
    I would say:
    - one spare spark plug tool to go in the cradle in the middle of the lights bulbs box, if your car is an US market version.
(it would be different should your car be an "Euro": then you would need a spare "H4" Bulb here - our cars do not have "closed beams", and the emergency "Costaplastik" triangle that was never included in the US jack bags; but if your car is not an "Euro", then I'm digressing...again.).
    - the small plastic bag for the emergency light
    - the third accessory belt: one for the alternator, one for the A/C, one for the Water Pump.
And" Bob's your uncle", as the brits would say.

(If we are going to nitpick, then: got the tie-down bolt for the slim spare wheel in the front trunk?)

Ha! The curved thingies are battery hook-downs that the previous owner must have put in (he passed away in the early 2000's and the car sat until the family put it up for sale). The silver thingy is missing from someone's 1/2" wrench box, I think... Friends at Ferrarisonline knew I was looking for a 328 to rebuild and found it. Spent the pandemic on the interior, and minor work on the exterior as it was in excellent shape. Thanks for the help!! Image Unavailable, Please Login

I like nitpicking! I want it as original as possible, except.... I put in power steering and it works great. Here you go:
