Here's the proof!
Gil's did JUST fine on our recent run! So did the other gentleman's (sorry, I'm an ass with names) Kept with a 348 and other cars pretty darn well if I do say so myself. Best! Ben.
Heh heh, well IF this was done on the road then maybe that was a TR shrinking in the rearview. But I'm still sticking with my jack stands story. BTW Rob, 140.
I was going to suggest that you may have, due to the quality of the pic, a vibration problem or a very nervous passenger/photographer. However, as the photo was taken with the car on stands, I can only assume that whatever the photographer was on, was working!
Where's that...I-10? Causeway? As a sidenote (I'm sure it's been done) I wonder how a race between your car and mine would turn out -- "up top" of course. 15-20 year old supercar v. newer nonexotic sports car. Would be interesting to find out, and if the Ferrari is on top @ 100+ then it really is a testament to how well they build'em!
Woohoo! I still hold the record for the fastest Jordan has ever been, on jack stands of course, @142mph. Someone please take Jordan for a spin. Sunny
Richard, that's actually neither. It's in my garage. But, now that you mention it, when the lighting is just right,my garage does kinda look like the section of I-10 between the track and town. Which car where you in? The 350Z? or the WRX? I was buzzing along with the 350 in traffic just past Williams on the way home that track day. Dave
I've had my 328 up to 145 a few times. Could have gone higher but ran out of free road. It was still pulling!
Thanks Ben. Yes, my 328 keeps plenty of smiles on my face during high speed runs. It's not the fastest thing on the road, but very respectable. Gil
I'm the Z I remember seeing you in traffic as well. I believe it was you, me, Jim in the 330, and someone else in a 512TR. That ride back home was stellar...hypothetically, I suppose I could top out my car a couple of times on that section of road! Wow, what a good time....kinda makes me start to sweat about next year!
Sorry 308,328, and even 348 guys. These days an M roadster can out run you anywhere. Accept top end with the 348. Japanese sedans even do 140's. Not as much fun but when they keep up in a Japanese family sedan with a 328 that's gotto suck.
Gil- it's not even the fastest exotic you own <wink> , by a good margin I'd imagine, but still very cool You are privliged to own both, thanks for bringing them out! Best! Ben.
No doubt, I love the 308,328, and the 348s. I was just making a point that it sucks. Technology is catching up.
