I just did an oil change on my 355 and finally got around to buying my own Oil filter cap wrench. Trust me, if you have done your own oil change before, those oil filters can be a ***** to take off. I didn't want to pay $86 for one so I did an Internet search and found a great deal I wanted to share with the group. The website is Welcome to Ultimate Garage Phone number is 201-262-0412. They are only $30 and $10 for shipping. This is a savings of over 50%. Best part is the owner Steve shipped it Priority mail the same day. I received it in two days and just used it this week. It worked great and I am a satisfied customer. I'm not sure how many they have in stock, so you might wanna grab one before they are gone.

Are these different than the typical ones available at most auto parts stores?

Yes, you won't find one at the local parts store for 348/355. And this is steel, not plastic.

Did you remember to torque the filter to the required amount?
I've had ignorant mechanics forget this and they will seep oil.

I bought the filter wrench from him about a year ago. Great price, product and customer service!

Anyone know what size (MM) the oil filter is for the 348/355?

That is a Facom filter wrench, a well known tool manufacturer in France. Makes sense they would make that, since Purflux (the filter maker) is also French.

Nice price. I have the Hill Engineering tool, which is machined from a block of aluminum, the Facom looks to be stamped steel, but I'm sure it works just the same. Great find, thanks for sharing! ;)

The beauty of a tool specific to the filter is then you can use a calibrated torque wrench to ensure you tighten it correctly to specification. While I have used a universal type strap wrench for years, I do feel more confident in the job when I can correctly apply the specified torque.

Won't ship to Canada USPS, so he wants to use FedEx which is about $35 plus brokerage/custims etc...sucks because I want one of these, but I don't need to pay more for shipping than the filter itself.

I just did my oil this weekend and used that filter wrench.

I find it incredible that when I posted about that wrench on 9/10/11, it was $15. Now the price has doubled to $30. Incredible. But it's worth it.
