348 Fuse box rebuild/refurb/remanufactured Im currently refurbing the internals of Both the small box from frunk and larger box under the dash for a 348 I'm working with an electrical wizard pal of mine to draw the stencils and have the polyamide/materials en route in the post. Il be testing in the coming weeks. If anyone has done this before or knows anything that could help please let me know If its successful I expect i could potentially offer fuse box rebuilds and possible new units too if I could get the housing manufactured. Anyway il do my best to keep updating on here
Thanks for the help, I have reached out to Guido just now so hope he can help. Looks like he's the expert here. Looking at his work it seems he does away with the PCB and hardwires the boards. Would be great to know if my efforts in making brand new PCBs is something to avoid
Fatbillybob hard wired his fuse box, I installed PWM controllers for the fans as they cause huge spikes, 50 amps when they kick in, in traffic going on and off they generate a lot of heat and burn the plastic box. Put in pwm’s and fuse box issues simply go away. Plus headlight don’t dim when they kick on, the fans are brutal on the the system. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/implementing-cooling-fan-pwm-controller.608170/
Great il reach out to billybob and the thread looks interesting. I have pulled my fuse boxes out they look and operate OK ish minor issues such as the horn is relay is energising when sporadically, (neighbours love me) , hence I thought I'd make spares with some used units I acquired for the future as I think my current ones will not last a long time The used boards i got look tired mainly whats seems like crispy material evidence of water ingress and heat damage.
It’s probably not the board but the relays, unless you had an alarm installed at some point, all bets are off when 90s alarms were installed, short somewhere.
