I disagree with his assertion that the 348 challenge started the v8 special edition cars - if any car did it was the 348 GTC. The 348 challenge started the, well, challenge cars :).

No race history - will be interesting to see how that impacts the price. I also don't see this vin in the registry. Hopefully someone with more knowledge about this VIN will chime in on the history.

Not very well researched, fan boy video.........Good to see people getting excited about 348's though.
He was getting confused with the Competizione having the 320hp F119H engine. The challenge cars I have seen just have the 119D or 119G.....

For a Japanese challenge car it does not have the Japanese spec brake cooling, and gloss carbon does not work on 348 interiors IMHO, but I hope it drives the 348 challenge prices up. Also would the 288 GTO no be a V8 special edition car that predates the 348

The 288GTO is one of the bespoke hypercar line - 288gto, f40, f50, enzo, laferrari. It shares virtually nothing with the contemporary 308/328 except similar styling and maybe cabin glass. The 348GTC was a standard 348 chassis and engine with a bunch of hop up parts - same as the CS, scud, speciale and pista. The GTC is also the rarest, by far.

I would settle for $100K for my 6 of 32 Challenge car.

Not really as there was no 288GTO Challenge Series.
Although it was produced with Group B racing in mind albeit too late because Group B finished early.

Possibly my most fav V8 Ferrari the 288....

Actually the 1992/93 348 Serie Speciale stated the limited edition V-8's. Yeah the 288 GTO and F40 arrived beforehand, but they are unique models not specialty versions of a production car. Then the Euro versions of the GTB/C, Challenge and Competizione.

    Vince,

When you are finished with your SS, We need a Stoogapoluza Covid Edition. We can be 6-10 ft apart, nose to tail, with high ventilation at speed at a local trackday. Covid protocols in place probably 3000 cabin air changes per hour at 100mph what could be safer?

Working on it, buddy. Had lunch with Peter today. I'm thinking the moment the county eases up COVID rules again, we're on. Start looking for your turkeys!
