348 Challenge OMP Cage Tube Diameter // Cage Covers?

    Does anybody happen to know what the outside diamter is for the OMP 348 Challenge roll cage tubing?

    I need to order the correct diameter SFI padding for the cage.

    Also, does anybody know of anyone that makes roll cage tube / padding covers that look decent? I've searched the forum and the net in general with no luck.

    Hi Barry,

    Yes on the covers ( though black is preferable). Now that I know OMP makes something, hopefully I can find some black.

    I have a source for the padding, i'm just looking for the cage diameter so I buy the right stuff. Do uou happen to know the outside diameter of the tubing?

    Found them in the UK, but the guy says no shipping to the US. Bummer!

    Thanks Barry. Understood, but the stuff i'm looking at is available in a different size range. It has a softer outer core that goes on the outside of the SFI rated pad. Using this since car will be driven on the street on occasion. See link below.

    The 1.5" to 1.75" range of what your using falls right in the middle of the two sizes of what i'm looking to use!

    I would order the padding for a 1.62 - 2.00" bar.

    OMP uses metric tubing, hard to get here I have to order it by 20 ft lengths just to get it
    40 and 50 mm
    I think most if not all of the 348 is 40 mm
    The 355 main hoop is 50mm

    Same for the 348....the main hoop behind the seats is 50mm. The rest is 40mm, however, for the bar across the top of the windshield, I've confirmed both 40mm and 44mm diameters. I have no idea why they used some odd diameter for this piece on some cages but I've noticed the 44mm piece is straight whereas the 40mm piece is slightly angled on either side.

    Try isa racing Germany or demontweeks in the UK for the OMP velours padding. Quite sure they both ship to the US.

    In my 1993 Italian 348 Challenge the door bars are 50mm otherwise all as described above.
