Ok. Removed the “sent from my iPhone” signature. Have to say, the one nice thing about the new website is whilst pictures are uploading you can still type your text. The app doesn’t seem to do that which is a little annoying. I will press on with it however.

Back to the other side, remove this clip holding the fuel line.

Unfortunately the stupid plastic clip snapped when I did this. Not sure if it’s totally broken yet. Will be v careful when I do the other side.

Next I removed the fuel injector electrical connection bar thing. The electrical connectors are the same as the MAF and throttle etc. you push down on the metal bar to release. So in this case I worked from one end and released each injector

The fuel injector bar thing i would like to remove. It’s connected at this big round junction here. Unfortunately as well as the fuel injectors, this child loom appears to be connected to the coolant temp sensor under the plenum. So removing it will have to wait a bit, as this sensor seems to be a pig to get to.

I don’t recall now why I took this picture. This is why I need to document this whilst it’s still fresh in the mind.

It’s possible that this is a “hey I managed to unhook the electrical cable” but that does seem a bit lame.

Perhaps it will come to me later.

The fuel rail is held on by two hex bolts.

In Ernie’s thread he referred to them as “crap ass” if I recall. I can attest to their crap ass nature. This side of the engine I got them undone no prob.

The other side one of them stripped.

Erine suggested replacing them with regular bolts, so I think I might do that. Have to learn about bolt and thread sizes however.

The circular wire connectors are on a bracket held to the inside of the plenum. You can see here the socket. I removed these next.

With the bracket removed, I could see all the way in the back the blue connector going to the water temp sensors. If I can get this undone I can remove the fuel injector wire sub harness thing.

In Ernie’s thread he mentions un hooking the throttle cable linkage to get the fuel rail bolts off. I didn’t need to do that.

However as mentioned on the passenger side, one of my hex bolts stripped. In order to get the “tool to take out stripped bolts” to fit, I had to un hook the throttle linkage

As per Erines thread, you do this using this funny star shaped screw rather than the nuts kn the shaft. The nuts control the two throttle bodies in relation to each other so didn’t want to mess with that.

Front of the plenum also has two hoses going to the evap can. These hoses are connected with the smallest cable clamps I have ever seen.

Had to really hunt for a screwdriver small enough.

    Here they are.

When I pulled the driver side hose off, noticed a little crack. It’s oossible it cracked as I pulled. Little reminder here to inspect that when it goes back together.

Some of these bolts hold down various things.

You can see here this one also holds the wiring harness underneath the plenum. These are a pain as it’s challenging to make sure the washer doesn’t drop.....

The bolts at the front hold down the fuel pressure regulators.

Underneath the plenum there is another vacuum hose going to a valve.

Erine does mention in his thread the name of this valve. If anyone can tell me what it does it would be very interested !
