I bought former F-chatter Marco's 348 a few weeks ago. I've been investigating the failure of the right front lowbeam headlamp. Switched out the bulbs and fuses L to R and these appear not to be at issue. In the left front fusebox niche I found this unattached wire bundle (pic). I'm getting ready to take out the luggage space liner to get to the heart of things but, prior to firing up the screwdriver, wondered if some experienced soul here recognizes this and its (in)significance.

I'm pretty sure that's the wires to the trunk light. Probably just unplugged.

    Good luck with the headlight.

You can swap the front trunk relays e with f to see if the problem moves to the high beams. Also, be careful about the headlight power as not every aspect is fused (ask FatBillyBob about his smoking light story).

well, after a brief hiatus I'm back to trying to fix this right sided dip beam headlight issue. I tried the E to F fuse exchange without success. Expecting a ground issue I got a voltmeter and, to my surprise, there are 12 DC volts across the pins of the light hub. Bulbs that work on the contralateral side don't work on this one, so the bulbs arent the issue. I've cleaned and Stabilanted the connectors. At least I have a good hefe-weizen.
