Anyone know why/when they dropped the ABS switch? I got a 355 book for Xmas, and the piccies and spec show it had it then. My '99 car doesn't... Does anyone know a source for info of changes made to the 355 over its production run?
Robert, I'm guessing your '99 is a Serie Fioriano. Fiorano suspension changes ("borrowed" from '95-'96 Competizione) included drilled, ventilated brake discs along with competition brake pads. Notably, '95 thru '99 355 Challenge's had additional brake cooling ducts, as well as competition brake pads.
There is no switch, just empty space, sniff. I think. I will scuttle into the garage and have a look when I get home from the In-Laws tomorrow. My car does have fancy silver calipers, but no drilled discs etc. Wish it was a Serie Fiorano as that sounds rather exciting! Sadly, it doesn't feel sharper than standard. I suspect that the ABS switch was a victim of litigation risk management. Or cost cutting... Do 360s have switchable ABS?
Well , i guess we have our answer......Mark and Ric, when were your cars registered? PS. The ABS switch is located by the mirror adjustment switches, next to ashtray. Tony
Once we get Mark's reg. date we can deduce when this button was fazed out.I assume you still can't find it,Ric?! T
I checked to make sure I hadn't missed it - there's a blank where the switch ought to be, below the mirror switches and to the right of the ash tray.
Was playing around with the ABS switch last night (driving home in the snow !!!) - it takes quite a bit of time to switch over (2 to 3 secs) ie on or off. Mines a late 96 and obviously has one.
