I have 8-year-old Hankook V12 tires on my 2000 360 Modena. I went to Costo's tire site and they only let you search by vehicle back to 2002.

    They suggest for a 2002 360: 225/40ZR18 (front) and 265/40ZR18 (rear).

My 2000 has installed, and Tire Rack recommends: 215/45ZR18 (front) and 275/40ZR18 (rear).

https://tiresize.com/tires/Ferrari/360/2000/Modena/ will show 'alternative sizes'. A 225/40ZR18 (front) is .5" shorter and .4" wider. A 265/40ZR18 (rear) will be .4" shorter and .4" narrower. A 285/40ZR18 (rear) is .3" taller and .4" wider.

Has anyone successfully used an alternate size on a 360 and what size did you use?

Will the wider front or rear width cause any problems?

    Thanks in advance!

My '01 Modena came to with 225/45R18 front and 285/40R18 Conti Sport Contact. I replaced these with identical size Michelin Pilot Sport 4S last year, and love them. No rubbing issues either before or after the change.

Excellent! When I use Waze with my stock tire size my speedometer shows ~3MPH less at 40MPH and 70MPH than the Waze GPS speed. My 996 Porsche Turbo and Boxster S were about 4-5MPH out of spec at 70MPH according to Waze. How are these sizes reflected in actual MPH in the 360?

I’m running 19” 430 wheels on my 360. You might (or might not!) find this chart helpful.
I went with 225/40ZR19 front, 285/35ZR19 rear. My mechanic recommend more sidewall for front given Hawaii roads. I also had the front fenders rolled, which helped a lot with front tire clearance.

Very interesting chart. Do you know where I might find the revs/mile for the other 18" tires I'm looking at? I don't see myself going to 19" wheels but it's good to know what is possible.

    try this:

    tiresizescalc.html

I think most owners of the 360 face this issue. IF you want to use OEM tire sizes, you choices in the current market are:

    - Pirelli p-zero (max performance summer)
    - Hankook Ventus V12 (max performance summer)
    - Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 (ultra high performance summer)

    or, some "all season" tire

    or, change sizes...

My car came with the Firestone Firehawks. I was appalled. It turns out the tires are fine. But I'll look at all options when it's time for new rubber.

If I were buying today, I'd probably get the Continental ExtremeContact Sports with 225/40 R18 fronts and the OEM rear size (275/40 R18).
