360 manual shifter

I never would have found this fix if it weren't for this great forum.
Bought the Ricambi Shifter Bushing as I was having difficulty shifting into 6th gear.

I have the console removed, and immediately noticed pieces of plastic that had broken
off completely from the bushing. I read the original tutorial that had removed the shifter assembly, then found the later posts stating this was not necessary.

I can't seem to figure out how to remove the bushing at this point.
I removed the c clip and spring from the rt side, the cotter pin and spring from the top.
Do I need to detach that square piece to the left of the shift lever?
I can't see how it can come out, there is no room to the left or right.
I know I am close, and the rest should be easy. Can't wait to see the difference.

Mines not broken yet but reading this I am thinking about a pre-emptive fix...

That little square block to the left of the shifter, that the circular ball fits into - I broke this when trying to remove it carefully with pliers. Just purchased a new one ($36 + tax), and broke the %$^& thing again. I greased both sides like crazy and tried to secure it on the ball first by hand and then with tools. It just doesn't look like it has any give in it. One member has been very helpful here but I would also appreciate other opinions/experiences. I can't wait to put this one behind me! Thanks

 

One of the best upgrades I ever did to my 360. The difference was amazing.

My shifter feels great in the gated 360 I'm selling. I wonder if it has this piece. I will check...

 

Great upgrade. Just completed on my 430. My plastic one was split and I had difficulty shifting to second and sixth. No such problems now.
