    I admit I'm too lazy to check the manual...what is the little doohickie that sticks down from the driver's side outside mirror?

    Oh yea,same here. Me 355 has it to,i try pressing it but nowt happens, the little B****RD.

    That "doohickie" or "pimple" is a temperature sensor. Make sure you don't pop it!

    Silly rabit here and I say again for what? Air con? Heater? Ambeant air? Heated mirror? For what?I could lick me finger and test the temp outside, is there a working reason with in the car?

    Don't know if there are any other reasons for having it other than the obvious display of external temp for AC controls, that is if the car in question has automatic temp control. The traditional finger in the air works for me also, as long as its not the middle index.
