http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content.mv?port_code=autoweek&cat_code=carnews&loc_code=index&content_code=08972272 Bold. Not my style at all. I'm smitten by the 328, 456, 330GTC, and most of the older (i.e. pre 1970) Ferraris. Discuss amonst yourselves.
Who knows what the final result will be, but, I have a feeling it will be F1 inspired. I've herd it rumored that the car will be Enzoish with an F1 nose. These designs(except for the first one that has been floating around for a while) are probably a good feel for the final look. At any rate, very exciting!!
FUGLY - my preference would be to take the 355 and "update" that design - something between the simple lines of the 355 and the slightly bulbous design of the 360.
ugly but i do like the back. ive seen that first pic before. hadnt seen on of the rear. i doubt thats what it will look like. way too radical.
Remember when the HSC came out and Ferrari Executives were quoted as saying it looked like "a Enzo on Estrogen" Seem funny now if they come out with this concept.
Thats the Aurea. It will be shown at the Geneva auto show. I'm sure the 360 replacement will look like this car.
I just dont think Ferrari would go so "controversial" like BMW for it's bread any butter model, anyone else feel this way? I think they should just use the stradale type evolution, it was perfect.
i pray that the 360s eventual replacement does not look at al like this, it would signal, (too me) a turn in the wrong direction for Ferrari's styling. looks to much like lotus. although 500 hp and a sub 4 second 0-60 sound good. MD
It a little over the top in my opinion. And it does kinda look 'Enzoish'. This concept seems a little too extreme for even Ferrari to take a chance at.
I thought this car was some kind of student car deisgn? I know Ive seen these photos floating around forever.
I've seen those photos, but this computer photo is a bit more fine tuned. We know that the 360 replacement is going to look like a baby Enzo. How many ways can you make a car look like a baby enzo and not look like this? I remember when the Enzo came out, most did not like the photos. If the 360 replacement is based on the Enzo... then we have to go through that phase again?
i dont think its too bad, i remember looking at the Enzo when i saw it first and saying "butt ugly" .. i like this design
I always liked the Enzo.It just kinda seams unFerrari like to make one of there Mid8s with such a radical design. Maybe there trying to compete with more and more people going to the darkside (Lambo), or maybe there just trying to go for a completly fresh new look, or maybe something completly different. I just know that however this car ends up looking like I know I wil love it, Almost everything that is touched with the Ferrari named becomes gold and Im sure this will be no different.
Seems straight foward to me... Everyone wants a Enzo, the car has the buzz! So you need to make a 20% smaller, more affordable Baby Enzo and give the people what they want. Just take a page out of Lambo's Play Book chop 5% off the nose and 15% off the ass, and you've got a new BABY (ohh...and you have to change the shape of the air-intake also) LOL
My gut says that that's the car. I don't know. I'll hold judgment until seeing one in the flesh. I will say that it has the potential to look stunning in person. If they make it as high and big as the Modena, though, it looks doubtful. However, as I said, I reserve comments until I see it in person. As one of the rare individuals who passed up a 360 to own a 355, I don't particularly the direction that Ferrari is going with their styling. However, it seems to be the way all manufacturers are going now. We'll never see another Countach, F40, 355 or Diablo again. It's sad in a way.
