I just discovered an easy repair for rotted rubber strips that hold screen in place on the windstop. The rubber retaining strips on my car had rotted allowing the screen to flap in the wind. After extensive search I did not find replacement rubber strips. I used an old stereo 2 wire flat cord (similar to lamp cord) . I removed the rubber pieces with a right angled pick. Cut the cord into 2 pieces (one across the curved top and one the length of the bottom). Liberally lube the cord with soap solution (I used pure wash and wax/no water). No need to remove the windstop assy from the car. Force the cord onto the screen and into the groove while supporting from the front. Trim with a razor blade and wipe down. Looks like new and saved $4-500 !

I did not take any photos as this was a trial and error fix but I will see if I can post a picture of the completed repair.
