I am getting an intermittent suspension warning light (light shaped like car with triangles pointing at wheels), and when this happens the car also loses power and acceleration suffers.

No other lights or warnings / slow down message etc. It just literally dies. Revs rose very slowly when accelerating etc.

When car is restarted the light goes out and the engine runs fine!

Is this normal for when suspension warning is on?

Does the bad running narrow down where the fault could be?

    Any help would be great!

Why not take it somewhere and get the codes read? Without that you are just throwing rocks.

Yeah, unfortunately in these situations you have to get the codes scanned to find out anything. No OBD scanners will read your suspension ECU

Only thing I’d recommend is to make sure battery is fully charged.

Change the main battery, these cars are very sensitive to voltage

its a very cheap place to start.

Turns out I have a bad rear vertical acceleration sensor.

    Hopefully swapping that cures this

Very common. I had one too. Super easy and cheap fix.
