    Hi all,

I have been hunting for a while for a good 360. In the meantime there are quite a number of 360CS's that have come on the market here in Australia. In our wonderful country however we get slugged HUGE duty (hence the prices compared to the US and UK). The difference between a 360 (02) and a 360CS (04) is $100k ($250k vs $350k). A F430 would be $380k (06 model) So my question to you is, would you pay the additional $100k for a 360CS? And in 3 years time will the gap still be there. The car would only ever be a weekender.

    Thanks
    Jon

Seems like a pretty normal difference to me. CS is an amazing car. Did You own any other Ferrari ? Starting with a CS might be abit to much ?

This would be the first FCar. Had a Maserati before though and did track it.

Test drive both before deciding. I bought a 360 without knowing about the CS. Later I learned of the CS and after seeing one in person, I ended up getting one and loving it far better than the 360. Of course, the 360 was sold at a big loss, including wasted maintenance and upgrades. I could have saved a lot of money by starting with the CS.

Do you think the CS will still be "unique" in 3 years time or just another older Ferrari

CS will continue to tank in australia, most joe public will view the CS as just another 360 but way over priced, and could be hard to move along when it's time. i see some for sale, but not at 350k, buy my 430 instead, it still has warranty :D

CS will be a special "old" ferrari in 3 years time and will be paid with a substantial premium vs 360´s. I could actually see the CS at the same price or more as the 430 in 2-3 years time. Already the CS is as expensive as the early 430´s.

I had a 360 before and loved it but the CS is a totally different car. The 430 is imo a "soft" car compared to the CS.

The CS will almost certainly remain special -- a classic -- in the years to come. It is a serious track car which is legal for street use. In comparison, the 430 is much too luxurious and too numerous, therefore not as special. Trading a 360 for a CS, my total expense is more than a new 430 but I still MUCH prefer the CS over the 430. The CS is also far more beautiful -- one of the most beautiful Ferraris of all time -- regardless of cost.

Reading the latest issue of Forza magazine might help you with your decision.

My sentiments exactly; my CS is and will remain very special with continued low rate of depreciation vs. 430 etc.

The CS is a fantastic buy, given it will certainly have a slower depreciation rate than the regular 360 (it's already experienced its biggest hit and it remains fairly exclusive and elusive). If I came across one in great shape, I'd buy it too.

money aside..the CS. No question. I had a 360 spider and did not like the car at all. I have a CS and love it. So much so I passed up a 430 spider as well as a 430 Scuderia

and by coincidence one of several reasons why is exactly what the original poster has brought up. The price difference between my CS and a new Scuderia (w/ my pick of options) would also be about $100k. Sorry..but I would rather have my CS and $100k...that and we now have 2 new kids..so the Mondial is going to be upgraded to this (hopefully) new Ferrari 4-seater.

Think about what you are going to do with the car.
I was in the same boat as you last year. CS or 360. I ultimately decided on a 360 because I drive her to and from work 3-5x a week and also have freeking speed bumps in my neighborhood and determined that although I 'could' get the CS over the speedbumps, probably not with the additional weight of a passenger, which would be a major PITA. Having leather, a nice stereo made the 360 more of a better daily driver for me.

Kinda agree and for the limited track work 360 will do.

I bought a CS last year, best ever buy, the sound is amazing and the drive feeling is superb, for me the 360 is a total different car and little bit humdrum only for the weekend I would buy the CS ( 360, its like the 250 lusso and the CS is more 250 SWB)

360 is like Porsche 996 Carrera and CS is like 996GT3RS.
