    Hello all!

My alternator is shot on my 68 365gt 2+2.
Is there a replacement 55 amp alternator that will work?
Then I can get someone to rebuild the original.

    thanks!
    John

I take it yours is a euro car with the single alternator?

On my US car with dual alternators, we replaced them both with a single Delco alternator, but I don't recall the part number. It was a fraction of the cost of the dual alternators-- this was 25 years ago, and I think the dual alternators would have been $3k and the Delco was something like $300, including fabricating a bracket to install it.

Just have your old alternator rewound to put out 90 amps. It should only take a few days at a reputable shop in your area ( not necessarily a Ferrari shop) just an alternator shop. Or contact Tom Yang tom@tomyang.net and use UPS.
