Ive just come off the phone this morning and i can inform you that Ferrari have no plans to build a 430 CS at present. The Spider will be available in late 2005 but im told NO 430CS is currently under consideration :-(

    Thats what they all say!!!!

Wouldnt the release of a 430 CS so early on just cause the 360 CS prices to massively depreciate....

Well in the convo the Dealer said that theres no info from Ferrari to suggest at present theres a CS within the development of the 430, as this was representitive for the 360 GT racers,

I dont think Ferrari gives a toss about depreciation Jaz why should they , hey we keep buying despite it?? Look at the whole 550/575 model??

    Case rests

Ferrari WILL make a 430challenge stradale or similar high spec model... they just won't admit it.... yet. It would be a stupid business move to make if they did admit it.

They will want current Stradale owners to upgrade to the 430, then upgrade again to the 430cs in a few years. They get another round of profit this way.

Porsche did exactly the same thing with the GT3-RS... they claimed it wasn't to be made, GT3 owners put a letter of intention in for any further performance model and voila... they got first picks at the new one.

Joe - stick a letter of intention into your dealer(s) saying that if Ferrari release a 430cs then you'll buy one.

    :)

I expect to see 99 360s with less desireable colours(eg yellow exteriors) with average mileage break the £60k barrier in the next few months.

Granted this isn't a UK supplied car (i assume so anyway due to kms not miles)

    1999 Ferrari 360 Modena (LHD)
yellow with black, 32,000 km £59,995.
    Foskers
    Tel: 07000 355355
    Distance: 19 miles
    Price: £59,995

So off 56ish on that and you'd probably get it.

    Andrew,

I wouldnt exchange my CS for a new 430??? I dont believe they have captured the same look as the CS...

Agreed they will build a GT 430 but a Challenge Stradale im told is doubtful m8.

    Almost from Ferrari (horses mouth)

The one I quoted at £67k is RHD. With the 430 coming out, prices will only continue to drop.

I think in one year 1999s and 2000s will be at £60k. From their they will slowly drop to the level of the 355 is now, maybe less because it is less desireable(apparently) and they made more of them, maybe more because it is faster and more useable. Then again what do I know, I barely knew what a ferrari was when the 355 went through the same cycle.

We may see an entirely different cycle now as ferraris become more ''mainstream'' and the brand image is not what it used to be...

CS will hold its value for the meantime I reckon, spider will drop less than the modena, but will obviously come later on the cycle as they didn't come in till MY 2001.

    All in MHO

I think (hope ;)) that you are very wrong.
How could they go for that when 97 355s still command about that much?
I think that the 430 will, at first, make the 360 depreciate very much, then as people realise that there are no allocations available, the 360 will go back up and settle, in the next 2 years, around the 60K mark. Just my guess

    according to the purists...

same with porsche 993 and 996...

Jean-Marc, I have no clue whether what I say will be true, just my opinion from looking at ferraris for sale everyday...the 360 does have against it the fact that they made quite a lot of them compared to the 355, and many people find the 355 more attractive and better sounding.

Cars with low miles and great condition(and in red) will always command a premium. The cars that are at £60k next year according to my theory will be ones with 20-30k miles and perhaps not fabulous condition, but still good condition.

    SCRATCHING HIS BARNET!!!!!!

Come again Noony ..right over me ead m8 :) Agreed they made more but they sold more too ...isnt that higher demand??? Hardly means its less desirable and its not a 355 different market and customer base..
jUST MY OPINION THO M8 :)
