So the convertible top on my 07 430 is pretty worn. One part of the mechanism that opens it is faulty. As the top is going down, I have to manually flip a bar back so it can cycle properly. It's not a big problem to do so. I wouldn't mind repairing that, but it's not worth thousands of $ to correct, I got a price from F or Ft Laud. The replacement runs through their shop and its around 8500 IIRC. That doesn't' count the repair I mentioned. The repair is not important. Any recommendations for an upholstery shop? I'm in south Florida.
I just had the entire top replaced at a similar cost at Ferrari of Central Florida. You have to be careful with the tension on the straps because too much can break the aluminum bar on the side of the top. That happened during this service and they had it rewelded (no charge, of course). The top had wesr marks and the rear window was fogged over. Now it looks and operates like a new car. I had the cylinder and elastics replaced and it was about 1/3 the price you mentioned. If I had to do it again, I'd have Gold Coast Restoration in FLL do the elastics, as the shop that did it in Broward messed up the first time. It was frustrating but they made it right, so I won't name names. Had a great chat with Philip from Gold Coast and would use him if I unfortunately have to have work done on it in the future.
I'm finally getting around to this job. I'm going to call American Auto Trim tomorrow. Anyone else have any recommendations?
